They really have just stopped caring here. For me. Bills used to be the number one breakfast spot in the South Bay, with their fresh made orange juice and quality. Fresh food. But today's breakfast just sealed the deal for me, I'm never going back.
I ordered an egg Benedict, the potatoes were ancients and overcooked to the point of being cardboard, the eggs were not seasoned at all, the English muffin was soggy and stale, and the Canadian bacon was I think the cheapest they could find anywhere on the open market. The other guest ordered chilaquiles Rojas, which was some bastardized American version of it, that added meats and tortilla chips. Which I have no idea why either one of those are on the plate. But the meat was gray and completely tasted like the bottom of a garbage can. The rest of the dish was seemingly left over old bits and pieces of food.
The servers were nice and accommodating, though our main server was doing everything he could to rush us out of there, even though we are one of two tables and the entire restaurant. This place was dead as a doornail for breakfast. I used to have to wait 4 hours... That should say it all.

It's always good at Bill's! Janeth took great care of us... Coffee always full and hot, quick, correct orders and friendly service! My veggie skillet was delicious and my breakfast buddy had the baked sweet potato special with carnitas and he loved it!!

Bill’s Cafe is one of those classic San Jose diners that always hits the spot. It’s laid-back but bustling, with a welcoming vibe that makes you feel like a regular the second you walk in. There’s a nice counter bar for solo diners, plenty of cozy booth seating, and a large covered patio if you want to enjoy the fresh air.
I ordered the Canadian Bacon Eggs Benedict with a side of French toast, hash browns, and an original mimosa—and everything was perfectly done. The eggs were poached just right, the hollandaise was creamy and rich, and the French toast was soft, buttery, and golden.
It was the perfect Saturday morning breakfast—sitting at the bar, sipping a mimosa, and soaking in the easygoing atmosphere. Great food, great service, and great energy.
