Called it in for pickup. I was told 25 mins and food will be ready. So I went there an hour later and the food was not even ready. The cook just started cooking my food. I asked the dude at the counter if it really takes an hour to make my order of 5 wings/3 drums and he said they were busy. Mind you it was raining today and no one was eating at the restaurant. An empty restaurant but slow as cook.

My sister found a cockroach sautéed in the japchae that she ordered to go. They need to get a health inspector out there

Bonchon on McKee Road is a reliable spot for Korean fried chicken, with flavors like Soy Garlic, Spicy, and Sweet Crunch standing out for their crispy texture and bold seasoning. The wings are well-prepared, balancing juicy meat with a light, crispy coating.

Beyond their fried chicken, options for side dishes are somewhat limited, and while Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)is available, the fried rice selection may change depending on availability. Service is fast, but peak hours can lead to long wait times, so ordering ahead is a good idea. For those craving flavor-packed Korean chicken, Bonchon is a reliable choice.

When it comes to the best sauce for fried chicken, like always, I ordered the half spicy/soy garlic bone in. The fires are the crispiest in town and go great with the fried chicken sandwich.

This location is a tad bit small in square footage so not realistic for large parties.

I have eaten at Bon Chon in 6 different cities in the USA plus original in Thailand. This was by far the worst. I ordered a mix of hot and soy garlic boneless wings, the sauce was almost non-existant. I read another review with the same issue, it seems standards have not gotten any better. I definitely would not order here again.

The rice is hard, like Chinese rice! Not Korean at all! I mean how do you mess up white rice lol other locations in Texas have way better quality food, the ones in San Jose suck, and need to learn how to cook Korean food better! It’s a disgrace

Food: Ordered the Soy Garlic boneless Chicken with a side of rice. It has a great crunch to it like is known and loved about Bonchon but it definitely missed the mark. Felt like it was sitting out for a bit. The rice was perfectly bland which helped with the overpowering flavor. I won’t order that again but it was good for trying.

Atmosphere: The only server that was there for the lunch hour was friendly but they ran out of placemats. That was a bit of a surprise since it wasn’t busy 30min into lunch and at the start of opening. The whole place smelled like cooked chicken with bad ventilation.

Parking: It was easy to find a parking spot with shopping center parking.

I've had Bonchon Chicken a few times in the past from a different location (Sunnyvale), and was so excited to see that they've opened this specific SJ location!

I ordered food online for pickup, and everything was ready when I showed up. My one complaint with the chicken was that it was too dry/plain! I usually order the soy garlic glaze, and this time was no exception...but my boneless wings came almost without sauce, to my eye. The soy garlic glaze was barely there! I was rather disappointed because the glaze is the best and most flavorful part of Bonchon. This was basically chicken nuggets with just tiny drips of glaze. Two or three pieces out of twelve were nearly dry with no glaze at all. For the price I paid ($15.85 for a 12 piece order) this seemed to be a half-done job.

Sometimes overall quality at restaurants can dip, depending on whether you take out or opt to sit down; and I think this might be such a time. If I order for pickup again, I'll be sure to check for the amount of glaze on my chicken.
