GREAT garoto coffee...the espresso with foamy milk.. so smooth, not bitter nor too strong. The portuguese cheese and prosciutto sandwich was good but next time will not get it toasted as the cold cheese itself is wonderful! the Pasteis di nata are the best littleegg tarts as I found them to be a bit dry, but then again get another coffee! Owner was so friendly and the place adequate for being an older establishmen.

The owner is great. Treats you like family. A fantastic way to start my work days. Wish I still lived in the area. I miss my morning cappuccino.

Love this local coffee spot. The owner is super nice and welcoming. It seems like a community center where everyone knows each other, greets warmly, and even offers to share seats. We enjoyed a cappuccino and a latte (they offer soy/almond milk for substitute), we appreciate so much with the owner’s sweet treat! The relaxed atmosphere here feels so European, instantly bringing us back to Portugal and sparking that nostalgic feeling. Great spot to chill with excellent coffee and some food. Definitely coming back.Cash or Venmo only. Free parking right next to the shop.

The owner is wonderful. He is very kind. This is a pace of community and laughter, a community watering hole is you will. I was warmly greeted by the owner. Coffee is good sandwiches are basic but the cheese! I don’t know what it was but it was so delicious. I had a decaf and ham and cheese sandwich with egg. I would go back here. I sat for a hour and half doing sudoku puzzles. Customers also super friendly. They know each other by name!

Great little spot filled with friendly chatter. A few SJFD walked in for their morning shift coffee and gave out stickers to the kids there. Food and coffee were delicious from great quality beans, São Jorge cheese, paposeco and everything in between. Definitely recommend and we will be back!Kid-friendliness: Along with our little one there was another little boy there and they both enjoyed themselves. There's kid-friendly food options, candy machine and Portuguese candy and desserts that all kids would love.

Service and environment was cool. Felt like a mafia coffee spot when you get in, but then everyone is very nice and keeps to themselves. The person serving at the counter was really nice. I asked for a PB&J sandwich and he gave me an untoasted peanut butter sandwich, not the tastiest.

I read a review in The Metro and wanted to visit. We went on a Sunday morning right before closing at Noon. The staff was very friendly and offered us a free custard tarts as they we're closing up. Loved that they were so generous and didn't waste the awesome treats. We had two lattes, a sweetened iced latte, and a prosciutto and cheese sandwich. Everything was very good. It's clearly a local fixture in the community and deserves a visit.Small but perfect menu, great prices, high quality and cash only.Parking: There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Came on a Fri morning and was greeted by the friendly owner. Ordered the latte, it was simple, nothing special and very affordable. There are some small round tables inside and a couple outside. It was fairly busy at 9am. Ambiance was good, clean establishment.Parking in the back or street parking in the front.

What a gem! So affordable as well. My sis and I had a cappuccino, a latte paired with a pastel de nata and biscuit. The pastel de nata was so-so but the hard circular biscuit was delish, sweet yet still tasty. This is a place where customers are not in their phones or laptops with earphones. People actually gather, talk and enjoy each other’s company. You almost feel like you’re gatecrashing a family party. They all seem to speak Portuguese, but we enjoyed the vibe and the barista were more than happy to serve us. We didn’t feel like we weren’t welcome at all. He even offered to just let us pay next time we come back because my sister who arrived first didn’t have cash nor Venmo. Truly one of the few remaining pure cafes around. Very clean and well-maintained too!

Really glad I was able to find this place. The owner is such a great guy, very friendly to all his guests and creates a good atmosphere. He makes some great coffee, highly suggest the lattes, makes a simple but excellent sandwich with some yummy Portuguese cheese. He takes pride in what he does and it shows. I'll be back again for sure.
