California Sourdough Eatery

My favorite sandwich shop in the Bay Area which I’ve been coming to for the past 6 years. I always get the spicy turkey sandwich with spicy mustard. The sourdough is always perfectly cooked and baked fresh daily, and the meat quality and flavor is so good.

Even though I now live 35mins away, I still occasionally make the drive just to get a sandwich here.

They also take credit card now which is really convenient. I’m hoping they open on the weekends or extend their hours more.

Food quality has significantly gone down since the new management. Condiments are also not available most of the time now. This was a 5star place until recently in my books but now I'm looking for alternatives.

Since the management change this place went from my favorite sandwich ever, to about average. Also the price has gone up. So if you haven't been in a while. Be prepared it's not the same.

Really good sandwich shop. I haven't been to many sandwich shops but this place really makes me rethink my food options. They have a good variety, good quality, and service. And it's inexpensive compared to other options so I'd love to go again

The food is incredibly fresh, especially the sour dough. I was able to get my order quick, and devoured my Pastrami sandwich once I got it. Incredible food, and even though it is $15, it is worth the price because of its quality.

My go-to order at California Sourdough is the turkey and pepperoni sandwich. The bread is obviously the star (that signature sourdough 🤤), but the way they stack it with just the right amount of meat and toppings makes it absolutely crave-worthy.
The sandwiches are $15 now, but they’re huge and totally worth it—I always get a side of chips and two meals out of one.
Bonus points for the staff too—always super friendly, quick, and welcoming. You can tell they care about what they’re serving and the people they’re serving it to.
If you haven’t tried it yet… go hungry and thank me later!

Over 10 years customer. Now this place’s ownership changed. I think just one thing needs to be improved. Today there were two staffs making sandwiches at the same time they kept talking without wearing mask.

Superlative sandwiches, all on freshly baked sourdough.. shattering crust, chewy interior… subway could never 😂… definitely worth stopping by when you’re in the area at lunch time
