ROSA and ELODIA give horrible service in the prepared food area. These ladies should not be working here.
I went in today October 29 at around 6:30pm. We ordered a Taquiza Combo which includes pico de gallo, rice, beans, meat.
When ROSA and ELODIA started serving my combo, they did not want to give me any pico de gallo, but instead started filling it with salsa.
I told them that the picture on the menu shows pico de gallo, not salsa. They both said “la foto aya enseña una cosa y acá hacemos lo que queremos”. They basically said the photo up there shows one thing but we do what we want over here.
Horrible service, they said the pico de gallo is separate and tried to charge me for it. Outrageous, since other Cardenas locations do give the pico de gallo in the Taquiza combo.
Also, they tried to not give me the free advertised 2 liter soda. The photos advertise a free 2 liter soda with the taquiza combo (on the whole other side of the room) and they tried saying that you had to ask for it before we paid. But how could we have known about it, if they advertise the free soda on the other side of the room?? You can’t even see it when you are paying. Sneaky service.
And all this with them rolling their eyes at us.
However, at least the cashier was super nice. The receipt says her name was Evelia, but I’m not too sure.

They never have people to serve you, you always have to pay yourself and even then you don't have anyone to help you at the cash registers where you have to do their work yourself and when they have someone they are very rude

Cardenas has good pricing and quality of fruits/vegetables. However, I used to try going to their taqueria and I gave up because I felt if you are not a native Spanish speaker, you are not welcome there.

I went for the first time. At this store in San Jose ca, I bought just one Telera to try and the ad says .49 cents. Then the cashier charged me .79 cents for just one loaf, I told her that the ad said .49 and she claimed that it was the bolillo that had that price... very disgusting. The woman who answered. It was the first and last time I stopped in that store. …….maybe it is a strategy of the store to put cheap ads and charge a few cents more. This way the client won't notice.

I like the food from that grocery store. The people from the restaurant are really nice but it’s very disappointing that the cashiers are so rude they give you dirty looks and they’re criticizing you they laugh in your face and they cut you off when you’re trying to speak to them. They should not be hiring really young people cause they are so rude. I’ve been there a few times in the night and they are making fun of the people who go grocery shopping making fun of how they walk and how their dress One of the girls was copying one of the ladies how she walked in they were laughing that’s so disrespectful and very immature and they’re always on their phone. That type of rudeness will make a person not want to go buy there no more they need to hire people who not rude Who have respect for the customers? I hope the manager sees this they need to get rid of those people who are not respectful to customers they’re not taking their jobs serious ???? these are the females work in the afternoon one of the worst all the young girls from the afternoon are so rude please do not hire young people. They’re so rude and disrespectful.
