Really great oak cabinetry around the bar. You can tell it's very old school and not like antique to where it's noticeably older. Whoever is the one that keeps up with the bar and keeping the wood and great shape is amazing. I really like that place. Customer service is awesome. Bartenders are awesome, very quaint place to kind of chill and relax on a date

This is the best value bar in downtown. It's like a classy dive bar. Or a budget semi-classy place. Beautifully crafted all wood bar, narrow compact space, pool table room in the back, best whiskey selection I know of and always a list of at least a half dozen $5 whiskeys. I always ask the bartender to choose for me and I've never had a $5 whiskey I didn't like... Because: FIVE DOLLARS. Oranges and apples pressed for juice to order. Johnny Cash on the walls and the jukebox, no plastic music, drinks, or payments. The crowd is everyone: young, medium aged, friends, dates, wandering parties. None of the lush fixture drunks planted in the corner all night like you find at the really divey bars... This is like a "hip" dive bar without the "hip" prices. Owners name is "Cash" (but different spelling), so the Cash Only branding has a triple meaning. I always say that the best, most comfortable and welcoming bars are owned/operated by genuinely good people and you can tell by the "vibe" (Save for the occasional overzealous doorman whose term.is usually short lived), and Cash Only exemplifies my theory. A good owner's cool vibe carries over to the employees, which passes on to the patrons. Here you have that.

The bar staff is very friendly and quick to get you drinks. We had their iconic whiskey apple . It's is very good! Simple but very refreshing!Wheelchair accessibility: Both front doors open wide and their is seating that could easily accommodate a wheel chair. Also a strait path to the restroom. Although passing through the actual bar area would be a bit tight when busy. But doable

Fantastic Bar in downtown San Jose. Really helpful bartender, fun and simple menu and great variety of liquors (esp Whiskeys). Highly recommend the Whiskey Apple and Greyhound!Fun fact: Cash only bar has a juke box that says “Cash Only” that only contains Johnny Cash music :)

Fantastic bar. Visited during stay in San Jose from UK for Sharks game. Close to arena. Bar staff are brilliant and cocktails were best we’ve had on our trip to date. The ‘Whiskey Apple’ is essential!

Didn't believe the name was Cash Only, but it is. Just like the name, it's a cash only bar, so bring cash.Went on a Saturday, which was busy but the bartenders are quick. They do have beers on tabs & some in cans, they have a apple whisky drink made with fresh green apples & a coffee drink which is amazing!!! They have do have some pool tables but normally are taken up during the weekend. Security guy was awesome, friendly & funny. Good guy, overall Would love to come check this place during the week rather than the weekend. Chill vibes here.
