Staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help, answer questions, and share their unique ice cream with us.
Their take on cookies n cream was delicious! Creamy with a hint of cinnamon. Would love to go back!

Food: We got the earl gray lavender flavor with original puffles. We got the ice cream regular hardness and it’s very creamy and flavorful! The puffles is not chewy as expected like a mochi but it still tastes good. Would definitely want to come again and try more flavors!
Service: the owner/staff is very welcoming and helpful. My friend wanted a softer texture so he made it that way and he also came and check out whether it’s good for him and Ben offer to make it again if he’d like it a harder texture. Haven’t seen people who enjoy the job and being so attentive for a long time!
Ambiance: bright and casual. Good hangout place with friends!

Employees need to tie their hair. I was at shop and her hair is touching the bowls they are making the ice cream. Very unhygienic . Not to mention it’s expensive and I sure don’t want hair in my ice cream. I waited for over 30 minutes to receive a burned waffle. When I asked for a refund, I couldn’t get one because employees don’t know how to refund and management was nowhere to refund me the icecream. Last time to visit this place.

The cereal one and the lavender earl grey were both delicious. We will be back

We keep coming back for Rose ice cream.

Edited—We came after many weeks. The rose ice cream had no rose flavor. Smelt like it was in fridge for many days. The waffle cone was crispy and good like always. 21$ was a rip off.

I was torn between old fashioned vanilla and cookies and cream for my milkshake flavor, so I settled on vanilla with oreo toppings. The kind lady working the register let me know the cookies n cream uses the same vanilla, both getting me exactly what I wanted, and saving me a dollar. Thank you for the delicious ice cream =D

Also this milkshake tastes incredible

Didn’t have a good experience.
1. Waffle was very eggy
2. There was no flower shape
3. The ice cream was already melting when we got it

Ice cream, 4 stars.
Wait time, 1 star.

Waited 57 minutes for 2 items.
Owners, managers, whomever reads this, please fix your process flow. Your two guys working are working really hard, but the sequence of operations is fragmented chaos at best.
I understand you have a unique approach to making these items, and individual made-to-order delivery is also fine, if you have the right resources, process, and space.

I will be taking my business elsewhere for the time being until I read comments stating something has changed (for the better).

Great flavors/combinations. The individual serving prepared on the spot. Unfortunately, they don't offer samples. Price is on the high side...

I recently visited Cauldron Ice Cream in San Jose, and it was definitely a unique experience. The preparation process for the ice cream is unlike anything I've seen before – they make it fresh using liquid nitrogen, which creates this cool, smoky effect as they mix everything together. It's fun to watch, but it can take some time for them to prepare your order, so be prepared to wait a little longer than usual.

The ice cream itself is delicious, but a bit on the pricier side. I was hoping to try their famous puffle (a kind of waffle cone), but unfortunately, they were out of it during my visit, which was a bummer. Even though I didn't get to try the puffle, the experience of watching them make the ice cream and trying the different flavors was still cool.

That said, the staff wasn't particularly friendly. I was hoping for a warmer, more welcoming vibe, but they seemed a bit rushed and distant. Overall, though, the unique ice cream-making process and the flavors make Cauldron Ice Cream worth checking out, even if the service could use a little improvement.

Smooth and creamy ice cream. Freshly made in front of you. Small scoop is enough for 2-3 people ;) we ordered strawberry flavor, it was perfect hint of cream and strawberry

Used to like this place for unique flavors and service. Recent experiences are pretty bad. Puffle is unavailable randomly (clearly they dont want to put effort into making it) and rude staff.

The place is clean, ordering is fast and efficient, and the food is presented beautifully. The workers are quick at preparing the food, and the overall vibe is great.

I ordered the salted caramel on a puffle, but my issue was that the only salt came from the two pretzels on top. The caramel was just on the surface of the flower-shaped, tasteless ice cream. Once I removed the pretzels and the small drops of caramel sauce, there was no real flavor—it felt like a blended ice cream reshaped into a decorative flower by the worker.

It felt like a waste of money because I was there for the taste. At $12, I barely enjoyed it. I wish I could get a refund.

Terrible S’mores milkshake!! It was just chocolate and graham crackers, no marshmallows!!! It was very bitter, even a regular chocolate milkshake is better!
