Best sushi in San Jose! Wish the place was a bit bigger because it’s always busy, but I get that the owner likes things just the way they are. Bigger isn’t always better. My favorite sushi place since Kubota closed in Japantown. One thing I have to say is that you call and the phone just rings and rings. It’s literally like they turn the phone off, that’s not good.

First time trying this place. Sushi was excellent. We got the South Bay, splash brothers, and the Spartan. We also got the spicy mussels and we're on point. I highly recommend this spot.

Nice, small place to have wonderful sushi. There are a number of sushi roll options in addition to traditional nigiri and bento boxes. Place can be busy at typical dining times, but worth it. Food comes out quick with good service.

The sushi here is really delicious. But I'm not satisfied with the level of service provided by this place. The website offers the option to place orders online, but at the final steps of the ordering process, the website simply hangs, and that's it. Just a waste of time.On February 14th, it was impossible to reach them by phone. I understand that they may have many orders. But they simply turned off their phone. Normal restaurants don't do that.

I moved to Boston 9 years ago and this is the only sushi place from California I have missed. The staff was friendly and the sushi was delicious. I hope to be back again, preferably not in another 9 years...

This sushi place is an absolute nightmare! Zero transparency on their online order policy - had to find out about the ID drama upon arrival. Demanding a name match and a surprise photo session? Seriously? No mention of this on their website or emails. Total chaos and frustration. This place deserves negative stars for its infuriating lack of communication and customer respect.

Just had a very nice lunch here - service was super fast - had the Titanic and GSW rolls - both very tasty, fish was nice and fresh. Also had the veggie tempura and the edamame - tempura was great - edamame is just steamed - would be nice to have the option to add things like garlic / spice / salt to it. Beyond that place is small, nothing fancy but service and people are great! We will definitely be back ?

Love this place. There WILL be a wait, especially at peak times, anticipate at least a half hour wait. They have a cool system though, theres a tablet at the door and you enter your phone number, then go check out the 85C bakery next door or stand outside and wait till they text you. I was too early last time, they texted me 3 times that the table was ready, I went each time and told the hostess I was waiting for my friend and she very graciously told me that she would hold my place and to just let her know when we were ready. Super awesome! When my friend finally showed we got seated in about 5 mins.Their menu is extensive and fun. There are many dishes with local names, using the bay area sports teams n stuff. There is traditional sushi and bomb fusion recipies. It can get a little noisy sometimes, but still good for a date bcuz it has this feeling of intimacy there. Great service too, even when it's super busy. It's a small place, an absolute hidden gem. So is Bona pizza right next door.

Back when I originally lived in San Jose, I used to eat at Cha Cha Sushi all the time. I recently moved back and decided to check it out again because I was hungry and Egghead was closed. There was no wait at all, probably because it was 3PM on a Thursday. It was a relief to find out that nothing has changed - food quality is still good. This isn't your fancy sushi joint but more of a weekday staple for fun rolls.
