I was craving bbq and maps on the phone had this place. So we gave this place a chance. Walking in, there was nobody. It was raining hard so no judgment there. I was surprised to see Korean food on the menu. The place needs a lot of updating. The lady was nice and accommodating. You order your food at the counter and then pick up your food at the counter again. The food is nothing to talk about. The best thing on my plate was the garlic bread. There was a lot of bbq sauce on the ribs. It seemed as it was made earlier and the heated up on the flat top. I feel my bbq is better.

We’ve been coming here for years but this place has really lost its touch. The woman who owns this place closed up shop on us at 2pm talking about she closes every day from 1:30pm until 4:30pm to pick up her son. Mind you there was no sign on the front of the building saying that. The sign says they open at 11:30am and she is always late to open. I mean always. She never answers the phone when I want to order. She’s always in a bad mood. I don’t think she likes to work at all. The bbq is not all that great when she makes it. She also didn’t have plates for us when we came in to eat. It seemed like she was rushing us out. As for the male owner, you can tell he takes pride in his work and his restaurant. He is amazing and always takes care of my family when we come in.

Tried baby pork ribs and it was ok. I would go here if I’m too lazy to cook my own bbq. Food taste is average.

Disappointed this visit. Service was poor.. the cook/cashier/owner was rude and seemed to be in a bad mood. They won't let you pay with visa gift cards and they do not let you tap to pay. The chicken was not good at all! It was dry and had a gross charbroiled flavor. The beef Ribs were fire as usual. The onion rings sucked! They should really make them beer battered dipped because bread crumbs made the onion rings kinda dry and not pleasant to eat. I used to love CJs BBQ. Don't think I'll be coming back any time soon unless I'm craving beef ribs. Oh and there's no bathroom or sink to wash your hands!

Love the beef bbq ribs! They are caveman style. Louisiana sausage is very tasty. Good garlic bread. I'm gonna try the ramen next.

The ribs were pretty good! I will go back to try the beef ribs. Chicken was tasty and had grilled flavor.

My favorite ribs hands down in Bay outside of Gorillaz in Pacifica. I can't believe it took me this long to try CJ BBQ. The ribs (both pork and beef):are so flavorful and tender! The ribs are pre-marinated so no dry and/or bland meat, which is pretty much my experience with most BBQ joints here. I like the ribs without the BBQ sauce (which makes the ribs too sweet for my taste) and find them flavorful without sauce. The tenderness can't be beat. They also serve ramen which makes things even better :). Shocked at the lower reviews compared to other places that are subpar in compairson.

Came in on a Friday at 12:30. They said they didn't open until 1:30, despite yelp saying 11:30. What kind of lunch place doesn't open till 1:30?

I ordered take-out from CJ's so this review is based mostly on the food. Ordered the pork & beef ribs which were actually really good, the bbq sauce took it up another notch, appears to be good quality meats used. I also ordered some sides, potato salad had too much onions and baked beans were a little different than what I'm used to and a little too salty. I would've given the place 5 stars if not for the sides.

I been waiting a long time to do this. This will deserved 5 stars. I love this place. Bbq just the way I like it. Did I say like. I meant love. This is the best place in NorCal to eat food. Period. I usually travel from Merced to here just to get a plate. Price a lil hefty. Food even heftier. Let's go

When I last came I noticed their hours said they opened at 11:30am but they came and opened at 12:00pm. The owner was still setting up and told me they weren't opened but she ended up saying she could take my order and proceeded in making it. The pork ribs are so tender and falls off the bone. They boil their meats and then grill them. The sauce is on the sweeter side and I like that the ribs aren't completely drenched in it. The garlic bread tasted like it was pre-made and reheated. It was tough and chewy. The sausage link tasted like kielbalsa. The potato salad isn't too creamy. They had a few tables but were pushed against the wall so I'm unsure if they needed to set them out or if dining in was an option. The restrooms were blocked off for sure.

Solid ribs and chicken. They were fall off the bone kind of deal. Hot links were okay, a bit burnt. Nice place to get some BBQ.
