great food and great experience!ordered mapo tofu curry, curry udon tori, and gyoza online togo. hadn't been in a while so checked at the front if you still have to check in for togo orders too and you don't! the gyoza were awesome and the curries were both rich and flavorful. even got my tofu-averse folks singing the mapo tofu's praises!!took a bit since I ordered during the dinner rush, as expected, but then I messed up when I received the text that it was ready and only grabbed one of the bags that I ordered ?got home and came right back, talked to the staff and not only did they have the second bag set aside for me but they also gave me free cans of green tea! above and beyond dealing with my mistake, can't wait to come back and hopefully not fumble the pickup again lmao

First time at this location, but ate at another Demiya (Santa Clara) before.I am so frustrated! I came here tonight (Friday night) and walked around this entire complex for 20+ mins looking for this place! They don't have a sign at all! Inside, there's 0 signage too. Completely confused what establishment doesn't have a sign. They're VERY slow. I ordered take out... still waiting. These people at a table next to me are ticked off since it took 35 mins for their meal. Food is good but is the chaotic parking lot worth it? No, not really. Ambiance is sterling and awkward. Bright cream walls, no color, no signage anywhere like I mentioned. Their menu doesn't even have their name on it! Totally bizarre. They have 6 people working and can't even get people water (I'm sitting at the entrance waiting for my order and observing). Truly a strange place; wouldn't come back to this location. 3 stars for the food being good, consistent with the other location.

It's Japanese style donkatsu. It's good and recommended.

I live next to this restaurant and I've been here multiple times. I always order the Chicken Katsu Curry Udon, and I honestly recommend the udon more than the rice dishes (I'm a noodle addict, so I'm probably biased). The service and ambiance are great. The reason for a star off is that once a family member of mine ordered pork the pork was served undercooked (it was slightly pink), but they replaced the pork when we informed them of the problem. I recommend this place!

I wanted to start off by noting that I have always enjoyed spicy foods even though my stomach might suffer from it later on, I still make this trade off. At this location usually I'd opt for medium and the spiciness of this curry at this restaurant is just perfect for me. I haven't tried making it the max because then it would be more like I'm trying to show off how spicy I can eat instead of actually enjoying the food. And then it would be like every bite I take I am like inhaling loudly and drinking a lot of water (even though that supposedly makes it worse). And then I would have to pretend that it's not too spicy for me even if it is. :) So, to avoid all that fun usually I just go medium. :)I like the location of this restaurant because it is easy to get to and return home since it is very close to highway 85. It is in the same plaza as H-mart so if I ended up crying there, I can come back out and "... suddenly ... i'm not half the man I used to be ...". Sorry, I always get carried away when I start a sentence with suddenly, it makes me think of that song. :) But anyway, after I come out then, suddenly, I can be happy and delighted to see Demiya! I'd be extremely excited because I can get some nice hot curry! :) Yeah, talk about mood swings huh?Usually I'll order tonkatsu curry unless I feel like I ate too much fried food for the day or week. Why tonkatsu? Usually when I cook at home I buy a lot of chicken so when I go out I'd order something with pork instead. Also, I don't ever fry any food at home so that would be another good reason for it.The most recent time we came to this location we just ordered to go. We headed straight home and the food did not disappoint. If you haven't already noticed we certainly will swing by every so often as part of our eating out rotation. :)

Closest thing to (the now closed) Curry House that we've found - and it's better in most things. I just wish they would add Keema Curry and the Red Chili Oil to their menu ????

Wow, I was quite impressed at my chicken katsu curry that I had at demiya. I ordered to go and can only comment on the food. The chicken was perfectly coated with the panko crust; and the chicken itself was moist. I had 2 large pieces of chicken that was satisfying only eating one piece. The curry paired with it was so delicious, one of the best and flavorful ones I've had. Salty but also necessary. I dropped it one star because the rice was a little hard. I would definitely try this place again and order other things.

Unfortunately there's little outside markings to indicate when they open and close. The inside also felt rather desolate, even when the neighboring restaurants and shops were experiencing peak traffic. I wondered if I had found a hidden gem, but I now have realized that I had simply stepped on a rather pointy rock. The food looked appetizing, but when I received the food, the pork was cold on the inside and it looked like they had deep fried a frozen piece of meat without cooking it fully or testing the internal temperature. They did help correct the issue by remaking the dish, but the second time it was lukewarm which greatly exceeded my feelings towards this restaurant. The curry itself was good though, so if the restaurant fixes the cold meat issue, it can definitely be salvageable, but after dealing with a stomachache for the two days following my visit to this place, I won't be brave enough to revisit for a very long time.

This is a great place to get your fix of Japanese Curry! Parking is easy to find as there is lots of space. The restaurant has a nice calm modern vibe which makes this a good place to chill with friends. The only way to order (dine-in included) is through their Square website, as they don't have a waiter. Once you order on your phone/website, you can pick it up when the food is ready. Their curry is my favorite in the Bay Area, as it's savory and has a distinct homemade taste. The +1 spice adds another layer of flavor and gives a kick to the curry. The rice is also cooked perfectly and compliments the curry sauce well. What makes Demiya outshine the other Japanese curry restaurants though is their protein. Whether you decide on pork katsu, chicken katsu, chicken karaage, or cheese hamburger, you can't go wrong. Personally, I like their chicken katsu the most, as it's super juicy inside and very crispy outside. The price is also very reasonable, as its around 15 dollars for a curry meal.I've gotten takeout from this Demiya multiple times, and I haven't been let down once. In fact, I feel like this restaurant is getting better every time I come back here haha. I definitely recommend trying this place once, and who knows, this might be your new favorite curry restaurant!

I ordered online after a half hour of issues with the online system. I tried to contact them for support, but you can't contact them except via text. I texted the number but never received a reply. The system said my order could be ready any time between immediately and closing time. Again, there is no way to contact them to get an estimated time for the order to be ready. I waited 20-30 minutes before arriving and still had to wait at least 10 more minutes. I don't mind waiting for my food, I just want an estimated time that didn't span a window of more than an hour window. I didn't expect a two hour window like I called the cable company, but at least they will take a phone call. The food was mediocre. Not much I can say about it.Given that there is a nearby place in Hmart that makes the most of the same dishes at least as well, is quick, and answers the phone, I don't really get the appeal of this restaurant.I guess this place is geared towards those who want absolutely zero customer service and want to wait for a long, long time.Honestly, they had a decent number of staff and the food was basically all made in batches (even the fried items) so the staff just needed to assemble the dishes for orders. Somehow they managed to do this at an incredibly slow pace. A restaurant focused on serving trendy Japanese food and definitely not focused on quality, food, efficiency, or service based on my observations.

No service at all. Orders are extremely slow, over an hour for in-person. Food is decent, but the place is disrespectful of your time.

Came here on a Tuesday during lunch with coworkers around 1:30pm, and half of the place was still filled, mostly with people finishing up. I got the Pork Katsu Curry with pickles, mild. A little bit surprised that there was an extra charge for pickles. But overall still great volume for the price - I brought home a small box of leftovers. The heat was just right for me to not have a stomachache after going back to work but still feel the enjoyment of eating something spicy. I love the ease of ordering, paying first, lack of waitressing, and self-return of trays, making for a smooth and efficient work lunch experience similar to cafeteria vibes in Japan. Can't wait to return to try more items on the menu.

This is my first time eating from Demiya and I can't believe I waited this long. My daughter's boyfriend used to work there when he was in high school and they would eat there often and would rave about it. We ordered take out right before closing and the food was still nice and hot when we got home. The miso soup is some of the best I've had, flavorful and almost creamy with little bits of green onion. A little tofu would've been nice but the flavor more than made up for it. The salad was made up of greens on top of cabbage and the dressing was tasty with a unique flavor, wish I had another container of it. The tonkatsu was thicker than usual but still juicy, perfectly cooked with a great crunchy breading. The rice came with pickled veggies on the side which rounded out the meal. My daughter order the same meal and her boyfriend ordered the beef shabu shabu curry with added mushrooms, his go-to dish. Sadly, I wasn't able to take a picture because he devoured it so quickly, lol!I can't speak for the restaurant's interior or ordering system as we ordered online and he ran in to pick it up. But I will definitely be a return customer and try out the curry next time because it seems to get rave reviews! Come check out this hidden gem!
