We went in for a celebration on a Monday evening with lots of rain. Perhaps that was a detractor and unusually empty compared to Friday evening (no experience)

I reserved the semi private lounge area last month for a dinner celebrating my graduation from SJSU, and I could not have been happier with how it all went! The reservation process with Rachel was straightforward and she did a fantastic job getting everything set up and planning pre-ordered apps, entrees, and dessert for my group of 25. The group order minimum was very reasonable, especially considering the excellent service! Throughout the evening, the servers were attentive and my guests loved the food. We were able to order drinks from our server or from the bar itself. I have been to District many times before for happy hours and drinks, now I can highly recommend it for dinners and larger groups. Thank you, District SJ!

A 6% “mandate fee” is bullshit. No one’s mandating anything.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. The food quality was extremely poor and did not taste fresh at all. The cheese on the pizza seemed old and had a strong, unpleasant smell, the pizza itself was soggy, and the fries were burnt. Even the drink was disappointing—it was mostly ice and water with no real flavor. Overall, the ingredients did not feel fresh or high quality, and the meal was not enjoyable. I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

6% surcharge is ridiculous. And the tip selection start at 18%. Be aware! Don’t tip extra
We made a reservation through Resy for 8:30 PM and arrived at 8:20 PM. Upon arrival, we were told our table would not be ready for another 15–20 minutes, but that we could wait at the bar.
We ended up waiting over an hour, during which time we saw several tables remain empty, yet we were never seated.
My wife has had spinal surgery, and sitting on high bar stools causes her discomfort and pain, which made the prolonged wait especially frustrating.
While the service from the staff was polite and attentive, the situation itself was very disappointing. Despite having a reservation, we were never given a table. We ultimately decided to leave because it was late and we were hungry.
Had we been seated as reserved, we would have stayed longer and ordered more. Unfortunately, this experience left us with a very poor impression of how reservations are handled.
Stopped in for some appetizers and had a wonderful experience! The restaurant was clean, fairly quite, but all staff was very pleasant. Everything we ordered was very good including our craft cocktails. We will definitely be going back!

No San Jose does not mandate %6 surge charge. Bad business practice.
Great ambience. Loved the high ceiling and the bar. Happy hour is every day from 5-6. Great prices.

Loved the open restaurant atmosphere. The music they played wasn't too loud and the seating was far enough away from other tables. Food was delicious as well.

This place is mostly for drinks.
Food:
Food was terrible - ahi poke was tasteless, Margherita pizza was like a reheated from a convenience store fridge, chicken empanadas most likely from the microwave. The table water smells like it was from a sewer, we had to order a bottled water.
Service:
The waiter was either lazy or careless, just unloading orders at the side of the table (even though there's plenty of space around), so we had to pass dishes to each other across the table. It turns out one of the chairs was dirty, so my wife's clothing was spotted with something like ketchup.

I am pleasantly surprised what a cute establishment this is!! Definitely a nice place to meet the girls for some after work drinks!!
The girl bartender was very nice and attentive to us….. and made a mean old fashioned!! Will go back again for sure!!

Our server Jennifer was the nicest and had great recommendations. We went with the steak, empanadas, ceviche, and a burger. It was too much for 2 but we were glad to have some leftovers. We found street parking around the block and it looks like there is a paid garage right in front of the restaurant. Note that this restaurant is not accessible inside of the market.

They really have no clue how to handle a large crowd, even on a weeknight
