I am pleasantly surprised what a cute establishment this is!! Definitely a nice place to meet the girls for some after work drinks!!
The girl bartender was very nice and attentive to us….. and made a mean old fashioned!! Will go back again for sure!!

Our server Jennifer was the nicest and had great recommendations. We went with the steak, empanadas, ceviche, and a burger. It was too much for 2 but we were glad to have some leftovers. We found street parking around the block and it looks like there is a paid garage right in front of the restaurant. Note that this restaurant is not accessible inside of the market.

They really have no clue how to handle a large crowd, even on a weeknight

We made a reservation for 8:30 pm on Monday. We sit down at around 8:15. No one comes to serve us until 8:35. We are not even offered water or anything. When someone finally comes to take our order, we are then informed that all the things that we wanted are not available (including a Marguerita pizza, seriously?). When I then ask if there is anything else vegetarian I am told it is either beetroots or broccolini (how is that supposed to be an entire meal)? Serious lack of effort and rude waitress topped the whole thing off. We left without even eating anything. Will never be going back to this place.

We arrived at District San Jose at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm reservation. There was no host, and although the restaurant was half empty, no one acknowledged us. The couple in front of us eventually asked a waiter (Tyler), who rolled his eyes and said “we’ll be with you shortly.” They ended up leaving.

When Tyler finally seated us, we asked for an outdoor fire pit table. He put us at a small table by the door and, when we pointed out that other fire pit tables were occupied by two-person groups, he said “well they shouldn’t be there, if you don’t like it you can leave.” He then refused to call a manager and walked away. The couple behind us, who witnessed this, also left.

Another waiter later apologized and told us to sit at the fire pit, but after 10 more minutes without service, we left too.

We were excited to try District for the first time, but the rude and dismissive service—especially from Tyler—completely ruined the experience. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.

The food was good, but I wish my dessert wasn’t taken away from me after I went to pay our bill for a couple minutes 😔 I just wanted to make it more convenient for the servers, but my friend followed me and then we came back to an empty table. Why? Especially after having empty plates on our table for 20+ minutes. Also, half of the tables were empty, and there was still enough time before closing. What was the point? Wouldn’t it be worth it to just ask, or wait until we leave? I was very excited to finish my beignets… This spoiled my night and the impression of the place, and made me feel that we weren’t even welcome here.

We went on a Friday evening:
2 of 6 happy hour menu items weren’t available
no beer bc their tap weren’t working
slow service—had to ask for our food/drinks repeatedly

Deducted 1 star for each of the above issues

We made a 6pm reservation on Resy. We had to wait 25 minutes to be seated for a table in the corner that was open when we arrived at 6pm. The restaurant lost an incredible amount of revenue as no employee greeted / acknowledged us, nor the groups of people continually behind us that left with the same frustration. (I feel bad for ownership as this was probably $1000 -$2000 lost business while we were there.) As our first plates of food came out, we had to ask the waiter for plates (as no plates had been given to us beforehand.) When he came back with the plates he was still oblivious as to the fact we didn't have any silverware yet either. (Hence, we had to ask him for silverware.) Eventually we ran out of water. We looked around and the other tables had received a water pitcher, not us. The table next to us complained that they had not received a dish and was tired of waiting for it. They opted to ask to remove the dish from their bill and leave. While we sat patiently (as best we could) we noticed several times that food was being sent to the wrong table. I think what happened was probably their greeter +/- one or two waiters called in sick for their shift on Sunday night. In totality, the service could not have been worse unless they were rude (which they weren't.) The food was acceptable for bar food and the ambience itself was inviting. However, given the abysmal service plus the mediocre food I do not ever see myself returning to this establishment. I can't believe it is on Resy.

First time at The District. Great service, decent food. Shrimp and risotto were amazing, as was the chocolate pot de creme. Chicken wings sucked, we had to send that one back.

Great restaurant with a vibrant ambience and nice location. It's in the heart of downtown San Jose. The staff is extremely friendly, we were 30 mins late from the reservation time but they warmly accommodated us. Food was great. We have shrimp, risotto, pizza, chicken wings and a nice chocolate whipped dessert. Food was really nice minus the chicken wings. We sent it back and the server was very cordial about it. Shrimp and risotto were the highlights. Their bar area is super nice with comfortable seating. There is an underground multi level parking at 2 mins walk. Overall a great location, services were great and staff was very friendly, I would go back again!

Stopped by for drinks on a Friday evening.

2 of us had:
saturn $16
fieldwork hazy train $10
6% mandate

We sat a the bar. Relatively empty. Didn't have any food. Drinks were fine.

Nice ambiance.

Park in one of the garages that allow for free 2 hours, or just find street parking.

Nice large outdoor dining area. We came by for a light dinner after going to a show in the area. Lots of great options. We ended up getting deviled eggs, whipped burrata, and elote corn. Everything tasted great and service was good! Will definitely come back to check out the other options we didn't get to try.
