Dry Creek Grill was an excellent experience from start to finish. This will be a go to spot whenever I'm in the San Jose area! I would definitely recommend the meatloaf and the short ribs they were flavorful with decent portions.

Came here for my birthday and the service was absolutely horrible. No time to look at the menu before ordering. Incorrect beer order. Staff was standing and staring at us the whole dinner, snickering. We were also charged a surcharge for using a credit card. Then when we wanted to pay, the staff was just standing around not helping. Had to grab someone else. Food was good but when you just want a beer and good steak in peace, I will look elsewhere.
Edit after owner response: Dear owner, thank you so much for responding. It truly does means a lot when an owner takes pride in their business. I know how hard it can be hiring staff that take that same pride as a business owner myself. After I sent my beer order back to replace it with something different, our food immediately came out and our server had changed for the night, which I thought was odd. I believe my steak was microwaved because we received our food about 10 min after ordering. Fairly quick for such a high class place. Steak was a tad rubbery as well. You may want to look into this as other reviews have said the same. Take care, we may give you guys another chance someday based on the owners response. Cheers

Dry Creek Grill gives the initial impression of a place that has its act together—but unfortunately, that impression fades quickly. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted not by a host, but by the unmistakable smell of sewer gas in the lobby. It set an unfortunate tone that the rest of the evening never quite recovered from. The decor is sleek, but the seating—particularly the leather or leather-like chairs—was oddly slippery, making it difficult to sit comfortably without constantly adjusting. Our server was friendly and well-meaning, but largely absent throughout the meal. Service was sluggish, with long waits between courses and little follow-up. The music was another misstep: loud, aggressive rock that clashed with the restaurant's otherwise upscale ambiance. It felt more suited to a dive bar than a place aiming for a refined dining experience. To be fair, the food was actually good. But even solid dishes couldn't redeem the overall experience, especially given the price point. For what we paid, we expected a far more polished and cohesive evening. As it stands, I see no compelling reason to return.
Dry Creek Grill was a great dining experience. The server was exceptionally helpful and friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Everyone's dish was prepared well and we all enjoyed a variety of the entree offerings. We sat in a booth on the end of the aisle and even though there were tables of 6 nearby, the noise level was just moderate and we were able to converse easily. We will go back. This is the second time we have been here and both experiences were very positive.
Birthday dinner for 4. Drinks good although slow delivery. Green beans and beet salad delicious. Men ordered brisket and both complained about the lack of brisket—fat and bit of brisket covered with too much sweet sauce. Ladies had Mahi Mahi and Salmon. Both were amazing in presentation and taste. Birthday cookie:ice cream was a special treat. I'm handicapped and we were seated in the far back after walking the the kitchen serving area. Also, it was noisy to the point we needed to speak louder to hear one another.
All the food was delicious and nicely plated. The staff is very frnedly and we had a wonderful evening.
Lovely intimate atmosphere. Lots of food and drink choices. When I'm in town I love coming to the Dry Creek Grill💕

Joe Bango and his little gal Pango..yeah, I know, but she's from the Philippines...invited me to there house for a BBQ, and of course I would go because Joe used to run a BBQ pit in Memphis, and he knows his stuff around a Q!
Little did I know he lives a block away from the Dry Creek Grill, you can see the place from his front door! So about 20 minutes, and a beer after I got there Pango walks over to the Dry Creek Grill, and snags a bunch of half chickens and stuff, and then tells me Joe hasn't lit charcoal since we moved here! And...Let me just say this, the chicken was perfect! Juicy, and more tender than your first girlfriend.
5 ☆☆☆☆☆ and worthy of a two hour drive!

Would recommend the crab cakes, cavier deviled eggs, burger and filet. Great service and very nice staff. Will for sure be back. Filet cooked as ordered and came out fast. Good drink menu and options...
