This is my family’s Go To restaurant for celebrations. The servers are quick and attentive. There is spacious indoor dining and they have a nice sized patio that is accommodating for my small dog. The chips, salsa and fresh guacamole are the best! You can’t go wrong with the crunchy tacos and sizzling fajitas.

Usant that provides consistent excellent service. All members of the staff I encountered were very nice and attentive to my needs. The food was very good as my fajita taco salad with beans is a strong memory. I am going back there when I am in town again.

Decent Spot, But Lacking Flavor — Room to Improve”
I stopped by El Amigo’s Restaurant & Bar, the one located in the plaza next to B&A Smoke Shop, and overall, the experience was just okay. I ordered the molcajete, which looked great visually, but unfortunately, it really lacked flavor. It felt under-seasoned — like it was missing that depth you expect from a dish like that. Definitely needed more salt and spice to bring it to life.
I also ordered a michelada with Modelo, and honestly, that was the highlight of the meal. Well-balanced, refreshing, and had that bold flavor I was hoping to taste in the food too. The rice and beans were alright — not bad, just kind of average. We had another dish as well, but to be honest, nothing really stood out. Everything tasted a bit bland.
To be fair, I get that this is the Santa Teresa area, where there isn’t a huge presence of traditional Mexican culture, so this place might pass for local standards. But if you’re looking for authentic or truly flavorful Mexican food, this might not be the place for you.
Constructive feedback: Amp up the seasoning — salt, spice, and depth of flavor make a huge difference. Presentation was solid, and the service was friendly, but the kitchen needs to bring more soul to the food. A little more attention to flavor could really elevate the experience here.
First time here. Their Machaca was delicious and one of the best I've had. Family members had the posole and they were not impressed. Service was a bit slow but it was mother's day so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. We sat outside and the atmosphere was chill and relaxing. I may not go out of my way to go here again but if I'm in south San Jose I may go back.

This place has the best group of people working for the business. food is great
I been there a couple times, but tonight it was the worse one. A freind and I we went to have dinner, while we were sitting one of waitress ask as if we can move to anothet table because she have a party off ten people. I was mad because she asked me an a way that I didn't have any shoice. She was rude. So she ruined my dinner. Not going back there any more.
Very disappointing food. The pork tamal was the texture of baby food and had very little pork. The entire flavor came from the salsa verde which was pretty good.
The chicken flauta contained so little filling that it was primarily a fried tortilla.
Prices are higher than a more casual taqueria. This would be acceptable if the cuisine were a higher standard.
Service was really nice and attentive with one exception. No one asked how we liked our food…….did they know the answer?
The pazole soup was pretty good. Not too greasy and flavorful. The meat was a little chewy. The chips and salsa were hot and fresh the salsa had a nice flavor just a little thinner than my preference. The waitress was nice and friendly. I would return
Substandard Mexican food. I tried their Arroz con Pollo and it was really weird. It had carrots, broccoli, zucchini and cauliflower. What kind of weird, yuppie version of Arroz con Pollo is that?!?! And it didn't even taste good. I've had better Mexican food at Taco Bell. If you want good Mexican food in this area, you're better off going to Asi a couple of miles away.
