Emperor of India on Cottle: First time back since preCovid. Lunch Buffet is $19.99 per person. The price also includes nan, all you could drink hot chai and selections of desserts.
The Good: Best Tandoori chicken I've had in a long time. Chicken is juicy, flavourful, and well seasoned. There are also about a dozen other wonderful dishes from which to choose (curry, butter chicken, deep fried onions, salads...ect). All served with basmati rice. There are also wonderful vegetarian options.
The Not So Good: Although I loved their complimentary nann, I do wish they have garlic nann as well. I also wish my stomach was bigger to enjoy more.
Take Away: We will definitely be back!

Taste was amazing. Best flavor in curry I've had in the area. I was unhappy to find multiple chicken bones in my curry. This was unpleasant and almost chipped a tooth. Which is why the rating is lowered. The naan was delicious as well. Please take better care to separate out bones.

We went there for a buffet but i was very disappointed looking the item numbers . Firstly, owner need to improve the numbers on food on buffet menu since its buffet. There was barely, 8-10 items including dessert. Food was avaerage for the price. There are so many places in silicon valley worth $20 for buffet and its far better than this one. I say food was average not too bad in taste . They didnt even refill dessert once its finished. We didnt have opportunity to try it. 😬 Not happy what i ate for the price
butter chicken was shredded not whole. terrible texture, spice level not what i had ordered. no tanginess at all to the chicken
One of the best Indian buffets in the Silicon Valley.
I had an incredible dining experience at Emperor of India in San Jose. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with care. You can truly taste the difference when recipes are passed down through generations.
What really stood out to me was the personal touch from the owner, Rusil. He actually tastes every dish each day to ensure it meets his family’s standards, and you can tell that quality and authenticity are top priorities here. Knowing that each recipe comes from his family just made the whole experience feel even more special.
If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine made with passion and consistency, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back.
Absolutely impressed with this place. Ice never had Indian food and ever dish they had was excellent. Spicy but not too much! 100% great experience
Many veg options in the buffet, and honestly the price is not expensive. I recommend it.
Good food. Come during the lunch buffet to try a bunch of stuff.

The buffet at Emperor of India was better than most buffets I’ve been to. I can’t say much about the service because they were so busy. They definitely did their best and the server was very nice and friendly. I definitely recommend this place.
Fantastic lunch buffet - a wide range of delicious items and a great value for the price. Dinner is also terrific with a large menu including tandoori options, vegetarian dishes, and other favorites. Menu options can be prepared mild, medium, or spicy.
The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, a very friendly owner and attentive staff. We always look forward to lunch or dinner here with family. Friends have joined us for the buffet and have been impressed. Thanks for being our favorite Indian restaurant!
Limited selections for lunch buffet, but the tastes are good, a little pricey compared with other Indian buffet restaurants
Self service. Delicious buffet. Little crowded. popular joint.
