What a freaking gem. This spot gives off serious LA or NYC vibes right in the heart of downtown SJ. The decor alone deserves a shoutout: stunning tall ceilings, gorgeous wood and metal accents, natural tones, and even a couple of olive tree centerpieces that ties it all together in a sleek, contemporary way. If you need a date night spot, try to lock in a reservation here.
The elevator bar is probably one of the most unique features I've ever seen, shuttling bottles of liquor from the downstairs bar to the loft bar. The loft area wasn't open yet, but I could already picture it being the perfect place to pre-game and soak in the energy from the restaurant below.
The food is dialed in. New American with a Mediterranean twist. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch, letting you watch your dishes as they're being prepared. Highly recommend ordering family style to share. The octopus is an absolute must--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The lobster pasta was decadent - pricey, but you get huge chunks of lobster that makes it worthwhile. We also ordered the monster ribeye topped with some insane butter, cooked medium rare. If you have a group of 4 or more, do it.
The drinks were fantastic, though more subdued in flavor compared to their other concepts like Paper Plane or Mini Boss. I'd recommend dinner at Eos & Nyx, then cap off the night with a cocktail at one of their other bars.
This is a game-changer for downtown SJ. It really reminded me of Bavel in downtown LA, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Excited to see this place finally open!

Very friendly and helpful staff, the owner seems to genuinely care about his customers and downtown San Jose. Food is great, probably the best option in downtown currently! Can’t wait to try the brunch!

Live in downtown San Jose. Stopped by with my husband for a drink on a Wed at 6pm. Coincidentally placed at a small table in the bar area adjacent to the Mayor. They served apps to the Mayor. Apparently that made us the only table in the bar area (and probably the entire restaurant) that couldn't get served apps food. Folks at the bar eating food too . So we left frustrated. Please do better if you are going to last in downtown.

EOS & NYX is an exceptional addition to downtown San Jose's fine dining scene. We sampled a wide range of their offerings, including the lamb, ribeye, pappardelle, lobster fettuccine, chicken, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mushrooms, and grandma’s potatoes. From the appetizers, we tried the prawns, trio pita, everything carrots, raw seafood, and for dessert, we enjoyed their beignets, sorbet, and the lemon dessert. Our son ordered from the kids' menu and loved the burger and fries. Everything was delicious!!!
The restaurant’s decor is stunning, with the second floor featuring a beautiful bar area and breathtaking views. It’s the perfect spot for date nights or any special occasion. For parking, I recommend the public parking garage on 2nd Street, which conveniently leads right to the front entrance of the restaurant.
EOS & NYX offers a great selection of both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and the staff was warm and attentive. The chefs’ talent truly shines through their dishes, each one perfectly crafted. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience in San Jose!
Kid-friendliness: Great selection on the kids menu.

Coming from the team behind some of downtown's best cocktail bars Paper Planes, Still OG/Alter Ego and the game-oriented Mini Boss, it was reasonable to expect their cocktail selection to be first rate. What was more of a curiosity was to see how the food menu would pair and stand on its own. The executive chef of E&N, Nicko Moulinos, is Greek-American. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is a fusion of dishes incorporating his heritage as well as his background in French cuisine at restaurants such as the prestigious Le Bernadin in NYC.
The space itself used to be Camera 12 Cinemas, so it is quite expansive. I recognized the Eos & Nyx font on the facade of the restaurant and thought it looked like the same as the one on the front of Born & Raised in San Diego. Turns out that both spaces were designed by the same firm! Everything inside looks very customized, from the light fixtures hanging above, and the curved staircase rails. There are also a few trees in the center of the dining area. The mezzanine upstairs has more seating for about 20-40 people and a second standalone bar. The windows upstairs overlook 2nd Street. I saw the VTA train pass down below.
The hostess gave us a nice corner table next to the bustling open kitchen. The cocktail that I ordered came out lightning quick. It was called Licensed to Dill, made with Aquavit vodka, apricot eau de vie, dill, greek yogurt and lime. Perfect amount of creaminess with lime, nice and chilled. My partner had the Garden of Eden, a mocktail which tasted similar but I didn't get the ingredients.
The first dish that came to our table was grilled octopus perched atop a sofrito sauce with almonds and a side of cipollini onions. It had a dense crust but was tender with a slight amount of chewiness inside.
The second dish that was served was the Lobster Tagliatelle. Small dime-sized lobster medallions were placed throughout namesake wide cut egg pasta in a decadent parmigiano and beurre blanc (French butter) sauce topped with a quenelle of Tsar caviar. From the first bite, it immediately hits you with a lot of flavor.
The third and final dish were the Lamb Chops, a 10 ounce portion served with an onion soubise cream sauce and confit potato. They were skillfully grilled with a seared and well-seasoned on the outside and mostly medium rare inside, in tune with my request. I found it to be a little bit sour, either due to lemon juice or vinegar but overall, a good dish I would order again. I used to love the mesquite grilled lamb chops a few blocks away at Nemea, the Greek restaurant which sadly closed during the pandemic. Chef Moulinos' lamb chops fill in nicely. Was a bit too stuffed to eat dessert this time around, but there were four nice options on the menu.
The service was very friendly and since it is still in the soft opening phase, they welcomed feedback. If there was one issue for us, there was a white PA speakers positioned at each corner of the dining area, with one right above us at the corner of the restaurant. It was a bit loud and heavy on bass. I've definitely been in louder restaurants, but perhaps after a long day at work, a bit more chill volume level would've been nice to go with an upscale dinner and cocktails. Perhaps the music could be a bit louder upstairs and at the bar and slightly lowered by the dining area if they have zone volume control.
They also have a weekend brunch menu that is headlined by "'Bò né' Thugs-n-Harmony," a Mediterranean interpretation of the classic Vietnamese dish, which is steak, eggs and pate on a sizzling skillet. I look forward to trying it out sometime along with other humorously named "Friends with Benedicts," "You Drive Me Loco Moco," "Yogurta Be Kidding Me," and so on. There are, of course, brunch staple cocktails like "Bloody Athena" which is a Bloody Mary that can be ordered
