We had an amazing experience at Famous Dave’s thanks to our server, Nathalia. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly. She checked on us often without being overwhelming and had great recommendations. Definitely made our visit even better!

Hadn't been to Famous Dave's in a while and was in SJ and decided to get the rib tips combo and bread pudding for dessert. The rib tips are not what they used to be, lots of fat and hardly any rub on them. The cornbread is far from cornbread, more like a slice of yellow cake. The bread pudding was the only decent thing. Quality has gone way down as to what it used to be. Very disappointing.
I like this place because it has the yummy BBQ.. I like the beans, cornbread, and of course the meat. Ribs, chicken ect.sauce is the Boss to. Add a beer and your in Heaven.

Ordered online for a subtotal of $68 for burnt ends, rib and meat combo, with sides mac & cheese, potato salad, and an extra add on of mashed potatoes. The add on was six dollars for something the size of a Baskin Robins kids scoop. Corn bread was buttery, soft, and tasted like white sheet cake. Corn bread is supposed to be moist but crumby. The slab of bread is the type of cheap white bread you buy with SNAP benefits and was not toasted or buttered at all. Potato wedges were hard, which indicates it was frozen and not fresh. Meat was delicious, with the pork ribs being the best, followed by the burnt ends, and lastly the brisket, which had a lot of fat but was not evenly spread out, so you would either have a mouthful of fat or bite into stale, dry meat. However, see the image for the portion size. The size of this meal has a value of $35 dollars at best, and maybe $40 if pushing it. This serving size was barely enough for my wife and I, and we are skinny legends who ate easily blown away by the lightest gusts of wind. Overall, the meat was tasty but average, but not worth the price and the measly ration of a WW2 soldier.

I HAVE TO HONESTLY SAY… THE GILROY FD IS HANDS DOWN THE VERYYYYYYYYYYY BESTTTTT!
This place was just sad. Service was equivalent to a fast food joint. Yawn worthy….bathrooms were AWFUL. Tables sticky, tableware had red lipstick when I asked for replacements I got another set of dirty tableware. So I used my hands, barbaric! Not the same as GILROY. Bring back the GILROY LOCATION!!!!
