Two, maybe three stars at best. First off, they advertise a late happy hour, 9 pm til close. This is a lie. “Sue us,” said the manager/server. Food is average quality. Most of it is pre-fab or frozen. Priced cheaper than other diners for a reason. Good luck eating here.

The place was completely empty when I walked in. I was seated and my order was taken quickly as I was on my lunch break. It took over 20 mins to get my order of fish and chips. The crinkle cut fries were frozen from a bag and were served cold. The coleslaw was just ? gross. The fish was good but not great or worth the $15 price tag.The clam chowder was edible but bland. It took them over 10 minutes to ring me up with no one still in the building.Afterwards I had a huge stomach ache for hours after eating there.Never again and will warn anyone and everyone.....DONOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TI.E EATING AT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!!!!!!

Don’t want to make it a long story but came here because Google showed me some bad reviews when I googled the restaurant to see what time they close tonight. I COMPLETELY disagree with the folks badmouthing this place. I have been coming here since forever during my student days at SJSU when they opened their doors and they make amazing food and provide amazing service. You can choose ANYTHING on the menu—from Chinese to Italian and from breakfast to dinner entries at any time of the day—it tastes OUTSTANDING! Prices are great. Location good from an accessibility point of view and lots of parking - but a little risky in terms of safety if you want to take a walk afterwards in the dark. I recommend you take a walk around the beautiful SJSU campus rather. The lit-up tower and fountain look spectacular at night. Again, no idea why people leave bad reviews here. What did they expect? To eat on the TITANIC?! lol GREAT PLACE! Message me if you have questions!

We went on Labor day Monday. Not crowed and we're seated by the busser who brought us water. The waiter took his time acknowledge us and when he did just casually asked of we knew what we wanted. Ok fine. Brought us our food. The chocolate milk shake & the root beer float were yummy. We ordered the Ruben Sandwich with coleslaw andAll meat pizza. The Ruben sandwich was very tasty. However the $16.00 Pizza was horrible and taste rancid. The mushrooms were rubbery and gross.I had it removed from my bill. I feel like some of these old restaurants don't change their menu or their food and or never taste their own food.

If you're into Holadaise sauce, the 'Flames Eatery & Bar,' is the place to come. They add it to just about everything . . that's an exaturation of course, but it is rather the feeling you get. And, I have to admit, just contemplating it while I made and consumed a different order, made me ask myself afterwards, 'why didn't I order myself something with Holandaise sauce?' My brain must have taken me back to a time - now, long forgotten - suposedly . . when I had something of this nature, and, so now, my taste buds are rapping me on the side of the head, saying . . Hey! Holandaise sauce! . . have you forgotten? Well . . I have, but you can bet on one thing . . the next time I come back, to the Flames Eatery & Bar, I'm going to have one thing appearing on my plate . . yep . . you guessed it . . Hollandaise Sauce, and that's for damn sure! This restaurant - located on the corner of 4th & Santa Clara, you could almost say, is the gateway to San Jose State University. Because, it's just across the street.I think the restaurant is nicely laidout. It was very quiet the Thursday afternoon I arrived. Maybe because I think, the items on the menue, are a little bit too pricey for students . . maybe, unless of course, it's served with Hollandaise Sauce - kidding. The seats are a bit low when you sit in them - up periscope - but, afterwards, you can settleback in them and have visions of Hollandaise Sauce. The menue is pretty varied, with plenty of selections to choose from, whether it be omlets, appetizers, seafood . . Oh! and where can you find a nice place that just would serve a good old fashion hot fudge sunday. The Flames, Eatery & Bar, can bemore specifically, located at, 88 south 4th street, in downtown San Jose, Calif.Have yourself a nice dinner - there's Greek, Italian, and, domestic choices. You'll get nice portions at this, what has been considered a rather, Las Vegas style appearance, and, oh! on your way out, you just might want to take home with you, a nice cake, that they have offering, in the display cabinet, Enjoy!

I’ll preface by saying I’ve been here and had a wonderful meal with good service before, but today was different. Our waiter was very overbearing and loud, which by itself is tolerable. However he decided that he would top our water with lemons, by taking a lemon slice in his hands and stuffing it into our waters mid drink. He followed up this class act by walking to ladies seated behind us with a “how’s it going dirty girls”. At this point we left in a state of shock. I don’t know if he thinks he’s being helpful or charming but it was definitely not ok. I don’t plan to eat here again if I see him working the floor.

Went for breakfast. Great food but nothing amazing. Indoors was dark and hard to see. Had nice outdoor seating with shade. My partner got a short stack. They were fluffy nice portion.I got the works omelet. It was filling, savory, huge portion and fresh fruit on the sideA friend got the California eggs Benedict. He said it was delicious, hardy and healthy meal.

Good service and food. Here again for fanime. Such a good place to get food. Morning lunch and dinner. And not to far of a walk from the signa Hilton hotel. Maybe a 10 min walk. Foods amazing and all times for food are great. Worth checking out

They have a beautiful large banquet room with a dance floor and a private bar. The set up was so nice. The food was delicious 2.

Came here for a late breakfast with 3 friends. A little preface, I eat out a lot. Especially breakfast places. The service was awesome! The portions, great! The prices very reasonable. So why only 3 stars? What's left to critique but the food itself. It was mediocre. I'm basing that off an average of the table. Some really didn't like their meal and others were ok with it. Personally, I was ok.The bottom line, it was a decent meal. Will I be back? Maybe. If I'm hungry and don't want to wait to be seated, I'm coming here. But if I got time, I'm going some place else.

Food was good, the pies were good also. The menu is huge and there’s breakfast all day. Usually no wait time. Waiters brought this review down a couple stars due to being impatient and not following order details. Great for a bite with the family and I hope you receive better experience with the waiters.

When you first walk in off Yerba Buena Lane, the space is deceiving. It looks small with only a few booths. However, once you chance upon the stairs that lead to a subterranean level (don't trip), the space opens up into multiple bars with the ability to house lots of people. Remember the eye candy I referenced earlier? Now fit lots of them in this space. Yes, 4 stars. Great for people watching. And wine drinking. And more people watching. Rinse, repeat.

For my first time here I have to say I really enjoyed it . I had breakfast and so did my friend . I sat at the bar and the bartender there was really attentive and quick . It was Sunday game day. it was pretty packed but she managed all the orders with persision. The foood was great. The amount was perfect. Huge pancakes . Plenty of seating and the parking is good too.
