This restaurant uses FoodWare To Go, a known shady service with a reputation for deceitful practices. If you use it, expect to be slapped with an absurd $12 charge if you don’t return their container. Avoid at all costs.

Such a beautiful community and atmosphere. It is evident that they value their employees and quality of ingredients. I’m not even gluten free but found all the food to be delicious!

Great service, nice atmosphere. But, umm, the gluten free baked goods are a bit low on taste.

There’s a place in Paris. Le Taillavant on Rue de Friedlander. 3 Michelin Stars when I ate there. In fact, for various reasons I’ve eaten at what have been described as the best. Marcus Wareing made my wedding night meal. I have studied food too. Written half a book about it. I know food. What I also know is passion. Someone who LOVES what they’re doing to the nth detail so much it might actually hurt. This is the gift you have in Forest and Flour. Passionate people cooking at the absolute highest level. If you think taste or structure or quality is affected by their principles and their gluten free and dairy free proposition then you are missing out on something you might miss. I had a beautiful dinner of stir fry, an amazing burger and fries, and a vegetable lasagna that almost made me weep with joy. The S’mores. The focaccia. The effort. The love. The immense service. The genuine interest in our experiences. These are the things you want. And at Forest and Flour it’s what you get. Hi. Eat. Indulge. Enjoy. Go often. Propositions like this don’t come around often. You don’t want to have to go to Paris to get food this good.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and Dairy free and willing to listen.

In Fremont for the Fourth of July, I used the Find Me Gluten Free app to search for a good GF spot. My daughter with celiac disease was thrilled when I found this dedicated gluten free cafe (also free of peanuts, dairy, soy). It’s a beautiful little cafe, very nicely decorated and modern but cosy. My avocado toast was like a little work of art - just beautiful to look at and very tasty. And although it was on the small side, it satisfied my hunger. My daughter had a grilled cheese sandwich - again pretty tiny- and a frosted chocolate cupcake to go. We also bought a loaf of brioche to take home - which she loved, best GF bread we’ve managed to find so far. The food was very high quality; the staff were friendly, welcoming, and obviously proud of the cafe. The prices though. For the size of the portions, the cost was a little hard to take. I’ll repeat that I found everything to be of high quality so high prices are justified. The owner here is clearly trying to do the right thing. Well sourced, health and earth conscious ingredients; properly treated and paid staff. And that doesn’t come cheap. But it’s tough these days. I feel I earn a decent living and yet there’s no way I could frequent a cafe like this on anything like a regular basis. At $10 for one frosted cupcake, $14 for a very small loaf of bread, it’s just not realistic for the average person. But if you’ve got money to spend I highly recommend you try this lovely little spot.

Got gluten and dairy free chocolate muffin with vanilla frosting at Oakland farmers market. Very delicious :) lady was very friendly. I also appreciate that it’s soy, corn, and peanut free. Those aren’t necessities for my diet, but I do like to limit my consumption of those as well.

We loved this place. We went here after the Ohlone College Flea Market and it was definitely a good decision. The grilled cheese sandwich with pickled veggies was too good. The taste and quantity both were great. The staff was very friendly and the service was so nice.Definitely going here again.

I cannot say enough good things about this cafe. I have been coming here since they opened. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. If you like cold coffee, their maple Cold brew is the best. Pair that with a chocolate frosted cupcake. You will have the most delicious afternoon treat ever. The patio is a nice hangout spot and you can bring your pups! Picture of my aunt enjoying her lunch!
