First time here. Food is just OK. The beef was dried out. The vegetables were very fresh. The chicken was flavorless and the shrimpSince we hadn't been here before we didn't know the routine, but our food sat on the counter after it was cooked and no one told us it was ready. Since we were the only two people sitting in the restaurant I don't think it would have taken much effort for someone to let us know our food was ready. Not terrible but I don't think we'll be back. If you're just looking to pile on a bunch of food in two bowls and don't mind paying $20 per person for mediocre food, go for it.Parking: Very busy shopping center with large fitness center next door.

If there is 6 stars I would give 6 stars! Super cost effective and delicious food after workout in the City Sports gym nearby. You are allowed to choose two full bowls of ingredients, including various meats, tofu, and other proteins, as well as wide range of veggies and carbons. You also build the seasoning recipe by yourself, making this a very healthy post-training meal with all the nutritions fully under your control and guaranteed the amount. It only costs $20 for the dinner. The front desk lady is also very nice and she built the seasonings for me which is delicious. I would say this is so far the only restaurant in Bay Area that I will feel sad about if it is closed someday. (Hopefully never happens)??

My friends recommended Gobi Mongolian Grill for dinner and I was excited to try it out since it reminded me of the foodcourt at the mall where we used to frequently eat. The inside of the restaurant is quite basic as expected from a Mongolian bbq. When you enter, you receive two medium-sized bowls that you can fill with your selection of protein, veggies, noodles, and sauces. They have signs with sauce recommendations that you can follow to get various flavors. At the back wall, there is a large rice cooker with steamed rice that you can have with your meal if you want. They have a self-serve soda and water machine, where you can also get your utensils and napkins. Additionally, they have self-serve vanilla ice cream cones, two for $1.Regarding the food, it was quite standard, nothing too special, and entirely dependent on how you pack your bowls. However, I was disappointed with the uncleanliness and poor management of the restaurant. The ingredients bar was dirty and littered with sauce puddles and fallen food on the counters. The system for getting your food cooked was not straightforward, as our cook had no way of keeping track of which bowls needed to be cooked next. There were lines taped on the counter where you added your food, but someone decided to add their bowls to a random spot instead of behind us, and the cook did not care. When my friend tried to explain the situation, he did not understand her. The person who made the mistake tried to explain it, and finally, he understood. After we finished our meal, we paid and stepped outside. Suddenly, we heard a woman yelling at us, trying to get our attention. She chased us outside and screamed that we hadn't paid for our food. We told her that we had paid five minutes ago with another employee who was on lunch, but she kept screaming no. The cook who we had an issue with couldn't bother to confirm with the woman that we had paid for our meal, despite the fact that we had. I even pulled up my transaction via my Chase app. The only reason she realized her error was when she Facetimed with the man on his lunch. This was so embarrassing and a waste of our time. I feel bad that she was doing her job, but there should be a proper way of dealing with this issue. In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant, as the food was bland and the service was terrible. You get what you pay for, and in this case, it wasn't worth it.

Wasted $40 on potentially tainted food. The cook for the Saturday night service (12/2) was very passive aggressive and did not want to verbalize what he wanted us to do. When I walked up, I asked if I could get the food to-go. Instead of answering verbally, he pointed to the lines on the counter. There's no written directions anywhere, and he didn't actually say anything, so I just put the bowls between two lines. He re-oriented them in a specific way, (which didn't matter cause he put both bowls on the cooking circle thing at the same time). My husband came right after and all the did was point from the other side of the round griddle. Again, saying nothing, so I had to tell my husband to reorient and move the bowls down. When he started to cook my food, he took a pitcher from the sink that was constantly running hot water and dumped the full thing over the food (spilling some onto the floor along the way). I know some water is used to help cook the food, but not an ENTIRE pitcher of water. The food was drowning to the point that it was spilling off the round griddle. Also, you can't cook with hot water because the heat will potentially transfer contaminants to your food or drink. According to the EPA: "Hot water dissolves lead more quickly than cold water and is therefore more likely to contain greater amounts of lead. Never use water from the hot water tap for drinking, cooking, or making baby formula."When he finished "cooking", he grabbed a dine-in plate. I asked, "Oh, can I get it to go?" thinking he didn't hear me initially cause he had his Airpods on (he was very much on the phone with someone cause I could see and hear him talking under his mask). He nodded and gave me a "hold up" wave with his hand, put the food on the plate, then grabbed a to-go box and put the food from the plate into the to-go box. Mind you, I asked about wanting it to-go BEFORE he put the food on the plate. He put the food directly into the to-go box when he got to my husband's food. Why waste a plate and create more dishes? The food looked so blanched and white. I've never seen this food cooked like this before. I'm not an expert nor do I work in this type of place, but most of them will still have the same order of operation: separate noodles from veggies/meat, put noodles to the side, cook whatever is there with SOME water, plop the noodles back in, maybe add some teriyaki or bit more water to finish the cook, then plate. When it's done, there's usually a nice browning on the food as everything was cooked and caramelized with all the sauces added. Nope. We got two contaminated boxes of boiled veggies and maybe cooked meat.Me being an awkward person not wanting to cause a scene, I just paid for the two boxes and a soda then left. We Googled the hot water thing as we drove home. Unfortunately, I am immunocompromised, so I didn't feel comfortable eating the food. And I'd rather not go back to get it re-made since it'd be the same cook. The cashier was very nice and pleasant at least.I'm so sad and disappointed. We've come to this place plenty of times and never had any issues. The food and service has always been great. I'm not gonna point out what he looks like, but I'm hoping the management can maybe give him a bit of a refresher on food safety.EDIT:Just an FYI, it seems like this cook has been doing this since at least the beginning of this year according to a bunch of reviews in Yelp (you can look it up by searching for 'cook'). Unless all the cooks do this now. Guess we won't be coming back here anymore.

Oh the nostalgic feel for eating this type of food brings me back to food courts at the mall. I had to give it a try. As you walk in you get TWO bowls to fill with whatever you want. Two bowls? Game on. You have to stack the proteins correctly against the wall of the bowl. Then fill in the nooks and crannies with toppings and of course the veggies and toppings. Then top it off with however much noodles you can stack on top without it tipping over. Fair warning! The more noodles you add, the more sauce you should add to your bowl! The sauce and the amount of water they use while cooking it, will make the food seem "bland". But if you're piling with a lot of noods and small scoops of sauce, well, yeah....2 ice cream cones for a buck? What a deal. The ice cream did taste a little off vanilla. There is a City Sports or AAA in the same plaza if you need to take care of business before coming here.

This is the quintessential Mongolian BBQ experience. The food is great, but service is practically non-existent and the atmosphere is bare bones. The thing is, if you go to a Mongolian spot and expect anything else, I don't know what to say to you.

On entering, you get two medium sized bowls to fill with meat, veggies, noodles, and sauces. There are signs recommending which sauces to mix and in what quantities to get various flavors. It was hard to balance things once my bowls got pretty full, so I wish that we were given one bigger bowl instead of the 2 medium bowls but I guess that is for a reason. I also wish that the chefs added the sauces to your meal for you instead of spooning it into the bowl myself, I feel like I did not end up with the proper ratio of sauces.I appreciated the wide variety of vegetables and meats available for choosing, as well as the wonton chips that come with your meal!I got takeout but there was lots of seating inside and I believe you can get a refill for pretty cheap if you dine in.Service was great, and I got amazing bang for my buck here! Will be back.

The food was great. You get to choose your meats, vegetables, noodles, and what type of flavors you want. Then watch the chef make the food for you. The price was reasonable for what you get. I will definitely come here again.
