This was my first time here. I was thereon a week day around noon and they were pretty busy. We got a table right away. Busy is good it shows that the food is good, right. Anyway the Chow mein , salt and pepper ribs and shrimp with veggies was very good. All the food was fresh , hot and they didn't skimp on the shrimp with veggies. Very good I would definitely return.

Good food for what you're getting and paying for, great portions, family atmosphere nothing fancy but that runs to the reasonable price, the staff is exceptionally great. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal.

Vegetarian options: Eggplant is really good, fried tofu and tofu both with veggies.

SAVE YOURSELF A DOCTORS TRIP!

On 9/22 I was a guest of a gathering and we had tried Golden House food and I have been going to this place for over a decade and I have never had an experience like this! On 9/24 the person who bought the food received a phone call and the owner of this place said that they will not provide a refund unless a doctor's note is shown! That is ridiculous and inconsiderate, I have been throwing up all day and I don't have health insurance to go to a doctor, I will make sure to never come to this money hungry place!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I had a family gathering on 9/22 and I ordered 3 party trays of shrimp fried rice, kung pao chicken, and chicken chow mein. I started feeling sick a day after eating here and so did all my other guests. I called the restaurant to let them know and see if they would at least give me a refund. The lady I spoke to stated she spoke to her lawyer and could not give me a refund unless I provided a doctor's note that I had food poisoning and it included what type of bacteria I had.

I do not live here in the Bay Area and came to visit for a work trip this week. I had to miss two days of work due to their improper food handling practices.

DATE: 9/22/24. I got FOOD POISONING here. We let the place know and at least expected a refund back after getting guests (7) people sick. This was the only food we ate that evening/night and began to feel sick after. Owners response was from their lawyer and stated that we would need to prove our food poisoning. How are we supposed to prove it? If they are willing to pay our medical bill we would definitely go. They are more than welcome to come in my home and view how much VOMIT and DIARRHEA we have ALL had. This is unacceptable. Horrible service.

Saw this restaurant mentioned amongst 2 others as home style simple good authentic Chinese food to have in my gmail feed of local San Jose news so went to try it. Author recommended Shrimp in Lobster Sauce & Mongolian Beef at this place. Located in a huge strip mall with Grocery Outlet & Dollar Tree. Huge parking lot.

Serves both Cantonese and Szechuan cuisines.

We had the lunch special (HUGE portions);
-Eggplant Beef in Garlic Sauce (extra spicy), has some oil, can't be helped as eggplant retains a lot of oil.
-Mongolian Beef (extra spicy) not oily at all!
Both were very good, not a hint of sweetness (though adult daughter prefers a tiny bit of sweetness in her food), crunchy firm veggies in Mongolian Beef (yum!).

Angie was our very kind waitress and she was sweet.

Next time will try their Seafood Chow Fun & Filet of Sole (non breaded) in Black Bean Sauce.

I've been a customer here for 20 years and I was quick to recommend it to others. But new ownership has changed the recipes or something. The food isn't as flavorful as it used to be. The rice was mushy. Servers took care of us, but they aren't friendly like the previous owners.
