Got a French dip sandwich, au jus, and fries with 2 cookies for dessert.

The fries were crispy on the outside and properly soft (but not too much) on the inside

The French roll was toasted nicely and had a good light crunch. I asked for extra cheese and they really listened and it was good quality meat to go with it.

The dip (au jus) seemed made in-house and was well balaced in meaty flavor and not too salty. I have been places where the dip was super salty and overpowered the sandwich, but not here. It complimented it well. I would say its about the saltiness of some ramen broths I have had.

The cookies smelled good and looked like they had been scooped with an ice cream scoop. I am excited to bring them home and warm them up

As a kid I would go back east to visit family. When I would, I ravaged the Italian and Jewish delis. Gunther's brings me right back there.

Lots of great options. We tried a bunch of things. Favorites were the cheese blintzes, chocolate chip cookies and polish sausage. The potato pancakes are more like actual pancakes rather than latkes. Egg salad was okay. A little on the mustardy side. Knishes were different than I am used to. They were like big mashed potato balls rather than the rectangle shape with the dense filling.

Average food, average service. Brunch schedule.

Gunther's catered my mom's funeral. The food was excellent and very tasty. I'm sorry I don't remember the 2 men who worked our party, they were very professional and made sure we were happy. They went out of their way to make sure everything went well. I recommend Gunther's for any social needs. And there chocolate chip cookies so delicious. Thank you for making a sad day a little bearable.

Found another classic mom & pop restaurant, a hidden gem. They offer breakfast & lunch from: egg Benedict's to omelettes, pancakes & french toast. Homemade classics like corned beef hash & potatoes, Tri-Tip steak, meatloaf, lamb shanks, liver & onions, sandwiches and many more options. They also have delicious chocolate chip cookies and desserts. I highly recommend this place! Let them know Rosie sent you.
