I went there with a pal to try and get her some water so that she can sober up because when she was taking me home she was driving rather recklessly so we go in get some water and then she starts acting strange so I tell her okay we should go because obviously she was in no position to transport herself back home I had told the bartenders and let the security know because I have no idea what to do in that kind of situation. And you know what they did they kicked me out and threatened to call the cops on me I was confused and upset and on multiple accusations I made it a point that I wanted to make sure she'd be okay. I had given the bartender my phone number so the could call me I even tried to give the people we were talking to my social media so that I can have some assurance that she would get home okay but even then they went out of there way to threaten me and ignore me when I was damn near about to cry for the fear of my friends safety. The irony is that not only was I threatened but it was by a fellow member of the LGBT community she barely listened to me and didn't explain anything I have no idea if they got home safe or if there okay because this woman made a judgement based on the fact that I was a man. I have never felt so frustrated confused and anxious in my life but if she had made even the slightest effort to assure me that she'd get home safe I would have been fine because this is usually a bar that I frequent but she made no effort instead they went out of there way to make me more worried scared and anxious when even just saying it's company policy would have made me feel better but no you focused on what you thought was between my legs because you felt that was more important than the clear evidence lined up in front of you if my friend ends up dead I hope it stays in your mind for ever because I will never let you live down what you did tonight

I wouldn’t call this hidden or a speakeasy because it’s easily accessible from the street. Although there’s no name on the outside, just a logo of a hat and tie. For sure speakeasy vibe. The servers are all dressed in true Haberdasher theme with a measuring tape around their neck.
Inside has the dim underground lighting. We stopped for one drink and I couldn’t make up my mind. So many great choices.
We got Pagoda and Putter Up. The Pagoda has the green basil drops that almost look like mold!..haha very tasty. The Putter Up was with scotch. Too strong for me.
They have tables, booths and high top tables. There’s a glass case in the back full of high end premium spirits. You can join $25 monthly membership to get 5 rare tastings a month.

Stopped by for a drink with my husband and our bartender Becks (Rebeca) was phenomenal!! She was so informative about everything she was making and it made our experience that much better! All the other staff involved were equally great, the door woman was cute and funny which made hanging out at the front door a lot easier. Even the barbacks were on top of things, I never went without water. Thank you all for such a great experience. Will be back and highly recommend to others!!

The drinks are creative and unique. I like the ambiance - perfect for date night. Not too dressy but appropriate. No food other than some nuts, I wish there was at least some light bites.
I had no idea that this place was even here and I walk by it every day. Glad I was told about it. They have the best old fashioned I have had in downtown SJ. This place is my favorite bar in downtown SJ now. The jazz music they play is really nice and the place has a great vibe.

This is our favorite spot! We've been here plenty of times and I wonder how I haven't written a review. This place is fantastic; from its vibe to their cocktails to their incredible service. We come here for date nights and special occasions and it hasn't let us down. My favorites include the Mango Tango and Tally Me Banana but recently learned that although I'm not a huge fan of coffee flavors, the Back in Black is also amazing. If you love craft cocktails, you can't go wrong here. The downstairs going into dark lighting and red walls really add a nice touch to a date night as well.
