I've been here umpteen times, and I've never had a bad cocktail. Each is made with care. My friend asked for a cocktail not on the menu. Not only did they know how to craft it, but it was also delicious.

I wanted to enjoy this place with friends. I was looking forward to it. The menu looks amazing, the pics of the inside look great, but when I turned the last corner into the place? It was like walking into a wall made of sound. I had to turn on my heel and leave immediately. To the proprietors: Please, turn the music down or install some form of sound management. Ideally both. You have an incredible, unique space in a prime location, and I sincerely hope that I can give you my money in exchange for libations in the future, but there's too much noise from hard-surface echos in that small space for it to be at all feasible for me to think, let alone enjoy time with friends, inside your establishment.

Rustic bar with some fun theming. Love the exposed brick and old timey paintings on the wall. Great speedy service- order at the bar. We tried their seasonal cocktails- the Christmas menu is still on as of Jan. The drinks were good- espresso martini was a bit too sweet. Would recommend the fruity options than creamy. The cocktails were not super memorable but love the variety offered for all liquor types: Whiskey, vodka, rum, etc. Standard bar bites and some IPAs/beers on tap.
No wait at 7pm on weeknights. Little dark makes reading the menu a bit tough- would be great to have some lamps around. Good for small groups or couples.

Haberdasher is easily one of the best cocktail bars in San Jose. Great speakeasy vibe intimate, stylish, and not pretentious at all. The cocktails are creative, well balanced, and clearly made by bartenders who know their craft. Everything we ordered was on point! Thank you Stephanie!
Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect for a date night or a classy night out with friends. Honestly, no idea why some people leave bad reviews everything about our visit was lovely. Consistently excellent and absolutely worth it. 🍸✨

I honestly loved everything about this bar/speakeasy!! It was so quaint, rustic, and romantic, and I’m so happy I was on a girl date playing catch-up with my friend!!
We got to have two rounds of special holiday cocktails and each one was better than the last! Well, they all had different flavors so I liked all of our drink drinks just because they were so eclectic and unique!!
The pear liqueur was incredibly interesting to me. Then the bartender told me that they were a local Eastbay distillery and they do tastings!! So my girl and I are definitely taking public transit to the East Bay to go try out the distillery next!!
We will definitely be back to this speakeasy!!

Just expensive but you get what you pay for for sure very well crafted cocktails. If you go on a weekend prepare to wait outside or even inside at the bar for a drink they get pretty busy.

I left a review describing a simple inconsistency with your staff— the fact that she refused to serve us nothing dramatic, nothing personal. Instead of addressing any of that, you responded like an angry teenager who just discovered the caps lock button which is WILD talking like that considering your age??? 40-50s💀 The fact that a business owner talks to customers like this publicly is honestly embarrassing.
Your whole reply was just you projecting, deflecting, and trying way too hard to sound authoritative. Calling customers “petulant children” and bragging about “remembering your first beer” doesn’t make you look experienced it makes you look insecure and weirdly emotional for a customers honest review.
Nobody questioned your right to cut someone off. We questioned the nonsensical logic of claiming we were buying drinks for underage people when IDs were already checked at the door. You completely skipped over that part because you clearly had no actual explanation.
If this is how you handle feedback, it explains a lot. Clearly seems like you missed being a teenager -because you are unable to professionally handle situations like someone your age💀
And here’s the part that’s even more telling: If anyone clicks on your other negative reviews, people specifically mention experiencing racism — especially Asian customers being treated differently. So I’m certain my group wasn’t the only one singled out, neglected, or refused service for no reason.
Thanks for confirming exactly the kind of energy your establishment runs on — defensive, immature, and unable to handle even basic criticism without spiraling. Most definitely will not be ever returning and will warn all my Asian friends not to as well 😃😃!

My favorite speakeasy. Great place if you want to get a drink with friends and engage in good conversation and “Speak easy”. ;) Also there’s the convention parking garage just down the street which is very convenient.
