Whenever I'm craving something warm and cozy this is my go to. All the dishes taste like it's homemade. Quick and easy meal no fuss. Recommend: - mi ga dac biet (egg noodles with chicken. The broth on this is . The portion is big so I can usually share this with another person. - the chicken salad (similar chicken to the one in the noodles but more and has cabbage I believe) - chicken rice plate

The choice of meat is Chicken. It was good food I think most people get To go. I had the egg noodles with breast and thigh meat. The broth was tasty but I like a better variety of meats. It was also quite pricey

Looking for a delicious and affordable meal in San Jose? If so, you should definitely check out Hai Nam Restaurant! This family-owned spot offers a variety of tasty chicken dishes. Although it may be a bit tricky to find among the many other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, Hai Nam is definitely worth the visit. FOOD: - Com Ga Hai Nam -- Hai Nam Chicken Rice (5/5): the portion of food served is very generous. The rice is fluffy and packed with flavor, while the Hainanese chicken is always juicy and cooked to perfection. And let's talk about the ginger fish sauce, which is the perfect match for the juicy and tender chicken. The meal is garnished with a generous amount of fried shallots, which make it so, so good! - Mi Ga Roti Kho -- Dry Egg Noodle with Roasted Chicken (4/5): the roasted chicken is incredibly delicious. The noodles can be a hit or miss, but even on a bad day, they are still pretty good. The meal came with two dipping sauces - soy-based and a tasty fish sauce. It's also garnished with fried shallots. - Goi Ga -- Vietnamese Chicken Salad (5/5): it's packed with flavor from the Vietnamese coriander, chives, and juicy chicken meat on a bed of cabbage. The fried shallots and onions added the perfect crunch. Dress it with that delicious ginger fish and BOOM! Absolutely delicious. I also appreciate the ratio of skin, bone, and meat. White meat can often be dry and unappealing. - Side Dishes -- Soup and Kimchi (5/5): each entree is served with a side dish of soup and kimchi. The soup comes with a little bit of glass noodles and chives, making it the perfect complement to the meal. The Vietnamese-style kimchi is so delicious. Unlike the Korean version, it is not fermented, but it still has a bold flavor that adds a bright kick to the chicken. Yum! SERVICE: The staff at this place is incredibly friendly and welcoming, just like Vietnamese mothers who make you feel at home. I usually take my food to go, and they always fill up the to-go box, so I have plenty of leftovers for later. AMBIANCE: There's no need to worry about parking; it's ample and readily available. The restaurant itself is small, but cozy and inviting. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby to explore if you're in the mood for some variety. OVERALL: They definitely know their way around chicken dishes, and the variety of Vietnamese-style options is sure to satisfy any chicken lover's cravings. The price for the portion is reasonable, and you're also supporting a small-owned business. Overall, it's a great choice for anyone looking for delicious chicken dishes.

My guy was having mad craving for com ga hai nam [hai nam chicken] and because he was willing to give himself a cheat day to indulge, who am I to stop him from his happiness?? After looking over a few places on Yelp, we both decided to go with Hai Nam Restaurant- for obvious reasons. The establishment is located within Paloma Plaza, off of Silver Creek Road. Parking is plentiful but traffic coming and going is undoubtedly heavy. Our family of 3 arrived and was greeted by a gentleman. He let us to pick our own table, brought out menus, and immediately offered water or tea. The menu comprised of various chicken noodle soups, rice plates, chicken salad, whole roasted and boiled chicken also available. Due to my daughter suddenly not feeling well, we switched gears and opted to order take out. I placed an order for com ga hai nam and patiently waited. Food came out quickly and everything was packaged well. Food: Portions are generous. The rice was flavorful, fluffy, and the hai nam chicken was moist. The ginger fish sauce paired well with the tender meats and the pickled napa cabbage gave the meal a nice bright aspect. 5 stars. Hai Nam Restaurant definitely knows what they are doing when it comes to properly cooking chicken. Bonus points because you are more than welcome to request for certain cuts of chicken [dark or white]. The restaurant aims to please....

The Hai Nam chicken with sticky rice was fantastic. Perfectly cooked chicken (we asked for thigh and wing) and the sticky rice was tender+had the right chew. We also ordered the side soup with chicken liver and gizzard. Good portions at a great price. Fantastic service as well.

Food is great but the service is hell! Both the lady owner and the lady waitress are so rude. They always yell at customers or talk shit about them. I might just start togo instead of eating in. How can they be so rough on the edges?

Good, comforting chicken dishes. The owner is so cute. During her down time, she was going around asking us if we wanted her to make us some ice tea. I got the mi ga roti and my friend got the com ga. I love the broth that comes with it! I want to come back and try some of the noodle soups because they look so good. The one downside was they have no other drink besides sprite and iced tea.

True definition of mom and pop shop when you see an elderly woman working in the kitchen. We ordered the chicken rice plate and chicken noodle soup which came out piping hot, hitting the spot on a cold night. Not only do they give generous portions but also, the food was fresh and delicious. However, the place can use a major facelift but this defeats the purpose of hole in a wall place...
