This place went downhill big time! Very dirty. If I wasnt so hungry, I would have left immidiately. Long wait for service eventhough there was only a few people in line. Ha Gao and Shu Mai are good, but dont trust the cleanliness of the kirchen. Bao was dry.

Once you decide to buy the whole duck bbq or whole steamed chicken there, don't ask the cutting lady who behind the cover counter bar to cut duck or chicken for you, better bring it home to cut it by yourself.
I love the roasted pork, and duck here at Tai Pan. Honestly, i ate at Tai Pan for over 10 years now. Their food is always on point, price is affordable. Cant complain.

I recently visited Taipan Dimsum at 1070 Story Rd, and overall, the experience was good. The food was fresh and tasty, and the service was quick. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. However, there was one issue. A younger, heavier male cashier was working during my visit, and he was a bit cheap when it came to giving out sauces. It was disappointing because I’ve never had this problem at other locations. The rest of the staff and food were great, but the service from this cashier could definitely be improved. Despite that, I’d still recommend Taipan for the quality of food, just hope that the service is more consistent next time.

My husband bought Glutinous rice sesame balls in Taipan today, but he kept vomiting and diarrhea. I have a closer look. The Glutinous rice sesame balls are full of oil. They are not dry. I think they can't sell out. They are fried again and again. It's terrible

Those ladies work at this location are mean, rude and unorganized when it come to serving customer. Like they pick and choose which customer they want to take instead of serving line. No clear communication even in vietnamnese. It happen to us many time not only one time. It's best to go to tai pan on Capitol expy. Never come back to this location again.

This is definitively one of the worst dim sum I have had.
It's primarily an order and take out place. The restaurant feels sad and dingy and service is to be expected of a take out dim sum.
I had a variety of ~3-4 classic items. The food tastes worse than reheated microwaved dim sum from a grocery store for easily 3x the price. They'll rip you off with the most bread I've seen in a bao. I went in the morning and the food was already not fresh and cold.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

I walked in and walked right out. I believe the person who entered before me did the same. They need to straighten up some, and it could use a wipe down, too. I think it would help the food look appealing. ☹️

Their dim sum looked ok from afar but they weren't good. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and there was still plenty left which I should've taken as a warning sign. Not sure if they closed their dining area but only takeout was available.

When ordering on DoorDash be aware that the pictures for some of the items will not match. I ordered a fried Shrimp taro and shui mai. The shui mai was good but the supposed “fried shrimp taro” was something entirely different. I called in hopes of getting this fixed but they said that it was right and it has pork. Well if it had pork it should have been mentioned.Disappointed since I really wanted what was on the picture. Like this is not the same thing this looks and tasted like something completely different. The shrimp and taro were basically nonexistent. If you order here on DoorDash I think you’d be better off going in person. Basically wasted 20 dollars for them to fumble.

Dirty place, I found a piece of plastic inside the bun (bao).
Just checked online menu - They’ve upped their prices for dim sum so don’t go by what’s posted on website - sesame seed bun now 5.30$ that’s a lot for three -

This is my go to takeout dim sum restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem. There is always a lot of customers ready to purchase food. The dumplings are large and stuffed full! You gotta go try.
