Small appetizers and noodle soup are just ok. We ordered this stinky tofu, just out of curiosity. It's not just stinky, the taste is so offensive. There are stinky foods that when you eat, it is actually good, like kimchi ,fermented fish, etc, but not this stinky tofu. It smells and tastes like it was fermented inside pork intestine for years. Be cautious before ordering it. On a fairer side, service is good and fast. My 3-star review is not based on our stinky tofu experience. It's the overall dining experience, food, atmosphere, service and price

The rice noodle is soooo good! The house rice noodle (spicy beef bone) is very delicious (although very spicy as well so please order based on how spicy you can handle)

The food/soup is delicious and when it says spicy, better believe that!!I ordered Combo D which is beef bone rice noodles + your choice of appetizer and/or green bean soup or poached veggies. I got the fried pork dumplings and green bean soup as my sides. The green bean soup comes out first because it’s served cold and I was glad it was because when I got done with my soup and drinking the broth, I needed something cold and sweet. The green bean soup is slightly sweet. I had no idea but it is a dessert soup. The beef bone soup comes out with the soup/noodles in the large bowl and meat w/spicy sauce ima separate bowl. I’m not sure if I did it right but I poured the whole bowl of meat and sauce into my noodles and it became like hot lava! I love spicy and this had me sweating and coughing. Loved every bit but please be mindful of your heat tolerance. The pork dumplings are served piping hot and freshly made! Crispy bottoms and soft tops! I would take a bite of the dumpling and then soak it in the soup broth to soak up the flavor and bam, soup dumpling!Definitely give this place a try! Located adjacent to Lion Supermarket. If you blink, you’ll miss it and you don’t wanna miss it!

To defeat the cold winter, I have the super spicy rice noodle with beef flank and offals.pThis restaurant is fast food for sure, but the taste here is authentic.Never try anything here with mild flavor lol

Meat were all fatty and portions were small for this price. Everything could be better especially the service if you are collecting

Already a regular customer. You must have changed the chef. I have done this several times and the baby vegetables I bought are not yet cooked.

Great texture of their mifen, and the broth base was above average too. Nothing bad, overall good dining experience.

Hunan Mifen, as the name suggests, is a Hunan-style restaurant that serves rice noodle soups. They do have several locations, but this one is located right next to Lion's supermarket in Santa Clara. Hunan Mifen has been on my to-eat list for a while after it was recommend by a friend and I'm glad I gave it a shot!FOODWe ordered two bowls: the spicy Special Rice Noodle with Beef Bone and the non-spicy Rice Noodles with Braised Pork Belly. All noodles also come with pickled cabbage and pickled mustard. Both meats were really good and the noodles were tasty. Soup base had a lot of flavor. The spicy beef though is very spicy that it's mouth-numbing, so order it only if you can handle a lot of spice. I really enjoyed the pork belly though and I think that will be my go-to whenever I'm in the mood for Hunan-style noodles.By far, my favorite part of the food is that the meat and the sauce it's marinated in is served separately. You can use this to adjust the taste of each spoonful of your soup to your preference and, most importantly, it's very easy to share meats between other people in your party if you're one of those people that like to share dishes!SERVICEYou order through the QR code and the servers will bring your food. When you are finished, you ask a server for the check. No issues with the service. Food came out promptly and the servers check up on you from time to time.COSTNormal pricing and pretty big portions. You are definitely getting your money's value here. No complaints about the cost.SETTINGStandard Chinese family restaurant setting. Interior is clean and spacious. Perfect place for a family dinner or a casual date. We went on a weekday evening and there was plenty of seating available. There's plenty of parking since it's a shared parking lot for the plaza. Lots of foot traffic in the plaza though, so be careful!Overall, Hunan Mifen is a pretty solid choice if you are in the mood for Chinese noodle soup. It's a great place to share your food, which is a rarity for noodle soup restaurants!4.25/5

Hot noodle soup in winter time= best comboThe soup base is very flavorful and very hot. I especially like the tomato beef stew. The meat is SO tender with very flavorful tomato. Definitely recommended. They also have a lot of spicy options for those who loves to challenge!Plenty of sitting. Spacious with very friendly servers. Lots of parking. Will definitely return!

Came here with some friends after badminton, and we were pretty hungry so we tried to find some place that was close by. One of them suggested this restaurant, and since I hadn't heard about it before I was curious to try it out. The interior isn't too large, but our group of 4 was able to be seated pretty quickly inside. I decided to try their spicy noodles along with their popcorn chicken, which both were served relatively quickly. They give a pretty good portion size, and the soup does have a kick to it! The flavors in it were great and the consistency of the noodles was solid, with the solid, juicy chunks of meat adding to the experience. The popcorn chicken were also great, and honestly rank pretty high up there in terms of ones I've had. Definitely recommend checking this place out, and I'm glad my friend suggested it!

This is becoming one of our go-to places for a quick and yummy meal for noodles. We have been here several times - during weekend lunchtime they are pretty busy and usually have a waitlist, but it moves fairly fast.Dishes we’ve tried:Stinky tofu - yummier than I expected. The sauce really elevates the dish and the tofu were fried wellHouse special noodle soup (招牌特色牛肉粉)- really can’t go wrong with this one. It’s a good level of spicy and the broth is very flavorful. They serve the spicy part separate so you can decide how much of it to addBraised beef and tomato (番茄牛腩粉)- an excellent alternative if you don’t like spicy. The beef is very tender, soup is really tastyGluttonous rice cake (糍粑)- fried well, generous portion, a little too sweet with the syrupRose ice jelly with rice cake (冰粉) - this one is not as good as some of the jelly I’ve had elsewhere. IMO not enough toppings and the syrup isn’t the right proportion of brown sugar and water

Recommended dishes: Glutinous Rice Cakes with Brown Sugar

Noodles are always great comfort food. Nestle in this shopping area, there are plenty of parking, and you can even get groceries from the grocery store afterwards. House Special noodle soup with ox tail- I tried the signature dish. On the menu, there are 3 chili signs next to this item, and I an attest that this is really spicy! The meat is served seperately from the noodle soup, so luckily I can still eat the noodles. The meat is SOOOO spicy, no joke. I had a piece then my lips when burning numb. I then rinse the meat in water, and that's more tolerable for my spice level. The meat is quite tender, falls off the bone. Even after rinsing the meat with water to get rid of the surface spices, the meat is still very flavorful so the meat is definitely well seasoned. The noodles itself is on the firmer side, has a good texture. The soup base itself is not spicy, but has a lot of pickled vegetables. It's a little bit sour and salty, very delicious. Noodle soup with pork belly- Again the meat is served seperately in a bowl. The pork belly is actually good portion. The belly has distinctive fat-meat-fat layers and very tender. It is seasoned like braised meat, and comes with some fatty savory sauce. Really enjoyed this dish. You order by scanning the QR code, and also let staff know to bring you the bill through the QR code. Plenty of seating inside, and staff is attentive but not hovering. Will definitely come back to try their different noodles next time!
