Very good

We came in just earlier, sat there for half an hour. Nobody's bothered to come over. There was a older lady wearing black shirt just stared at us and went black to the kitchen. We decided to eat at Cajun place next door. My recommendations, eat somewhere else, help other small businesses out. Apparently this place doesn't need your business.

First I will start off by saying I really love supporting small business and want to continue doing so. Their grilled fish and meats of 7 course beef are good but after this last time, I may have to reconsider returning bc I don't appreciate their business practice. In the past, they would have a cash only sign. Ok I get it... at least you're upfront you don't accept credit cards, but the last time I was there, the cash only sign was no longer there. While eating there, I saw other groups come in eating then when time to pay, they bust out their credit card to learn that the restaurant doesn't accept it, but will only accept cash or Venmo instead. This puts groups in awkward situation as some generations or some just don't use Venmo so all have to scrounge to come up with the cash during a time when most restaurants prefer credit card for contactless payment. I even saw one person waiting while her partner had to go to bank. I wish Huong Que would just accept credit card as I think that is what is holding their business back. They have potential to do so much better if their business practice didn't appear shady.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles. Everything is good, and I've had everything because I've been coming here at least once per month for about 2 years. However, the two things that are absolutely insanely great are:

I have been coming here for years starting when they were new. This place is known for their 7 course beef and grilled fish rolls. They give lots of veggies. Their sauce is mixed well. Their service is fast. Their price is better than other places. The plaza gets packed during prime time. Thus far, I have yet to go anywhere else for the mentioned items.

Always be my first choice restaurant for buying "đồ nhậu"! Delish and fast!

For me, this restaurant was the best! The foods, drinks, and desserts that they served taste fantastic and yummy. My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our visit here. The waiter entertained us with respect and full of responsibility. Besides, the place was really captivating to take a photo. It was stylish, modern, and very clean. Highly Recommended!

Don't be fooled by its small space, This place screams flavor! Came in here w my parents and we got the bo 7 mon & ca nuong (beef 7 ways & baked cat fish). Every bite was packed with so much flavor, whether you wrap it in veggies, wrapped in rice paper, dipped w mam nem or nuoc mam. Bo 7 min includes: Beef dipped in vinegar Beef salad Beef porridge Beef wrapped in lolot leaf Onion wrapped beef slices Beef sausages wrapped with fat casing & grilled & steamed ground beef w shrimp chip This restaurant filled up by 7pm last night. So, if you wanna eat good, come by early or prepare to wait.

Great fried/baked catfish

Small restaurant, service is okay. Good amount of food for the price. Their specialty is the seven courses of beef, and whole roasted catfish. They have other dishes on the menu, if you don't like the above mentioned. Parking can be tough to find on Friday night dinner time.

Located in Silver Creek Plaza right next door to Thai Elephant Express. The plaza has a lot of popular food stops such as Thien Long, Hue, Happy Lemon..etc so parking is always pretty limited, especially on weekends -so good luck looking for a parking spot and horribly parked cars! Huong-Que has a pretty extensive menu but they specialize in Bo 7 Mon (7 course beef) and Ca Nuong (roasted catfish). I've been here a few times with the family, only tried their specialties and always thought the food was OK. It's also CASH ONLY. I had this big craving for ca nuong, so we made our way over there. Surprisingly on my most recent visit with my fiancé, we arrived around 6:40pm, the restaurant looked extremely dim and it was only 1/3 full. We were expecting it to be packed for dinner like back on the day! People used to huddle at the door and block the pathways just waiting to be seated but I guess things have changed over the years..business isn't as booming. We ordered.. CA NUONG DA GION $38.99(M-served up to 3 people) -grilled crispy catfish covered in chopped peanuts and chopped onion. Served with spring roll rice paper, rice vermicelli, bean sprouts, vegetables, pickles and dipping sauce. We wanted the small size since it was only the 2 of us but the waitress said they ran out. Something felt a little off about that...how can you run out? It felt like she only said that so we're forced to order a medium. Whatever. As we waited for our catfish, the waitress brought out fresh lettuce and herbs, a plate of pickled daikon/carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, vermicelli, rice paper, shrimp paste fish sauce and bowl of hot water to wet our rice paper. When the fish came out, it looked really promising! It was fully loaded with fried shallots and green onion oil, and it looked super crispy! ...but upon my first bite of the fish..OMG IT WAS SOO FREAKIN DRYYYYY. I was praying that I just ate a dry edge but NOPE, the WHOLE FISH WAS DRY. Almost every bite I took had some type of fish bone too, so beware! Not only was it dry, the meat had no taste/flavor whatsoever. The fried shallots and green onion oil did nothing for it too. My fiancé was super disappointed..and I felt bad for even suggesting to come back there.. We grudgingly ate the fish and noticed that even though we ordered a "medium" the amount of (dry)meat that came off of the bony fish wasn't even much! Ugh. I eventually ordered a side order of shrimp chips and that was the only thing I truly enjoyed. sigh..now I remember why I haven't been back there in years. I feel bad for writing a bad review since the nice older gentleman is always kind to us but the food is soo disappointing. Never again for the Ca Nuong! I'll go back and stick to An Hong for my ca nuong cravings from now on..

TLDR: Family owned, friendly staff; Delicious Vietnamese food; Feels like home Huong Que is a family-owned business located in the Silver Creek Plaza. I have been coming here for years because my mom used to work in the plaza and would always bring home a meal. When I'm visiting home, I'll ask my parents to get me Huong Que. I love eating here. You get seated and served as you enter. The restaurant is kind of dim compared to the sunny outdoors but it is nothing drastic. It doesn't hurt my eyes or anything. There are many tables ready for larger parties. The furniture is Vietnamese style like you would expect in a typical Asian household, which makes it feel familiar. The place is clean overall. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Since my family comes here often over the years, the staff recognizes us and strikes up a conversation. They always greet us with excitement and a smile. It makes us feel like we're family! I always get the com thit nuong (rice with grilled pork) but without onions. I've tried this dish at many Vietnamese restaurants, and I think this has been my favourite. There is so much flavour! Huong Que's food has definitely become my comfort food. When you get your meal, it doesn't look like much, but that's because your mind is tricking you since it is served on a very large plate. There is a decent amount of food although I wish there was more salad. The portion is enough to fill me up.

I love this Huong Que. Service was amazing, and the food was even better. I went with a few co-workers and I was not disappointed.
