Bad service. Kept me waiting for 15 mins. Had to go in and ask a waiter to take my order. Didn't even give a glass of water on a hot day. Had to ask twice. Very frustrated with the service.

So far, I have been to two different iJava cafes in the Bay Area, and while they are both 5-star establishments, this location stands out. They have great Mediterranean and Mexican food, along with classic dishes. Everything is halal. I come here a lot with friends, and recently introduced this diner to my husband. I thought I'd write a quick review highlighting our last experience. I had the steak, potatoes and eggs, while he went with a chicken katsu burrito. Food was great, as usual, and the service was excellent. The waitresses are always really nice. This location has great indoor and outdoor seating too. I highly recommend iJava.

The food was amazing. Employees are also very nice. The sauce for the chilaquiles was some of the best tasting sauce I’ve ever had in a restaurant.

This used to be the Original Pancake house. They didn't advertise it as a halal restaurant nor on the menu. If you like pork products, especially bacon, you will not find it here. They have beef bacon substitution but come on, it ain't the same. Food is average but waitress/service is nice. I ordered a cappuccino for my meal, it was a bit too bitter. I never add sugar to my cappuccino so I can handle coffee well perse. Not deal breaker but it took away a little bit of the enjoyment of coffee with my meal. Overall, I'm glad another small local business take over the spot and not left the space be a ghost one.
amazing food and drinks! very fast perfect for a quick bite or when youre hungry, i recommend the jerk chicken it’s reaally good

location is great, love the patio. but it was probably one of the worst meals I've had in a long while. shells in the egg, truffle overpowered the crab Benedict, chilaquiles tasted like everything came out of a can. service was non existent. never filled water, spilled some egg and it was difficult to get more napkins, had to get up and leave to get the check, 0 check-ins. we regretted not going to the burger king instead when we were leaving haha

I dined in at the establishment on a weekday last month — casual diner vibes I was there for it especially with it being at around 35% capacity for that day.
However the food I ordered which was a Belgium waffle with ala carte (additional cost) egg* and beef bacon.
🥚 *the way the menu was written made me question if reality if one order of egg was in-fact $3. I digress.
Beef bacon came first followed by the egg about 5 minutes later. I was surprised thy it did not come at the same time. A total of a little over 20 minute wait for 1 stinking Belgium waffle.
Service was extremely poor and attention to my table was lacking severely by the waitress/ hostess that set me down.
Out of this entire dining experience — the food was the worst. The waffle was tasty, flat (not fluffy) and when doused with the tasteless maple syrup — yuck! So, I turned to my expensive ala carte/ side orders of egg and beef bacon. The egg was really the only palatable food item I ordered. Which actually has some taste (scoring maybe a 3/10 in my opinion).
Anywho, I hope the owner re-evaluates the food ingredient choices and menu as I do think majority of Americans (and maybe even foreigners) would appreciate a pork bacon choice — just saying.
Peek the picture of the flat waffle. My guess was it was made with cornmeal.
