Outstanding. So happy to have stumbled upon this place. Highly recommend. One of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had.

I have been coming here for 4 years and it’s the the best Japanese restaurant hands down in the Bay Area. It’s no frills it’s true to Japanese heritage with the Japanese chef managing the sushi counter himself. He has a really interesting background come in and see for yourself. The whole staff are just amazing people.

This place surpassed my expectations. I was waiting for my car to be repaired and wondered into Izaka-Ya and it was astonishing to find excellent food grilled at table by a Bennihana type chef. Beyond the beef the shrimp were extra large coated with pronounced and unique flavor. I was seated with another family who regularly eat there.

It was a very traditional Japanese izakaya style restaurant, the atmosphere and food were great! I really want to visit again.

I was actually impressed with this place. Not in the nicest neighborhood (witnessed a drug deal right across the street like if they were selling ice-cream in the open), but the food was amazing. The staff made you feel very welcomed and were very attentive (and patient with our party of 16). The chefs were super funny and encouraged participation, and our busboy was super cool and helpful. Prices were reasonable for it being the San Jose area, and the little bar near the entrance was very inviting. Didn't feel very safe outside, though, especially concerned that they would break into the car while we were inside, so that's why I'm not giving it five stars.

Great little hole in the wall - great food. We've gotten the sushi boat B to share a couple times as well as their bento combos. One of our go-to spots!

One of my favorite spots. Great food, great service, and the small space makes it feel intimate without being too cramped. I recommend calling ahead to save a spot. So happy it’s still open after all this time.

I’ve been coming here on and off for about 15 years. This is my go-to spot when I’m craving Japanese food. The menu has so many options it’s hard to choose, but I always go for the sushi bento—it’s delicious and reasonably priced. Never disappoints, and the tempura is amazing too!

I’ve been going here for years and absolutely love it. The grill options are all fantastic, the vibe is funky and hole in the wall-ish, it definitely sells the diamond in the rough dining experience I look for in a local pub. 10/10 would go every day if I was rich and lived closer :) (Hamachi Kama is my go-to order every time)

Very small Japanese bar, better be there before the rush or end up long wait.

Other than this, the menu is huge but very item we ordered were delicious.
