Came to place a takeout order. We waited literally 40 minutes and are still waiting. It was a full house at the restaurant but we only ordered 3 rolls. I have eaten here once and it nice but service especially takeout is terribly bad and slow! ?

The food here is very good and the service is very fast! It is a little crowded so if you're looking to bring a large party that isn't really feasible! Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait because of the size but things move relatively quickly. For the price and speed, I think this beats out many other Japanese restaurants in the area.

Just a Korean or Japanese atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of items. The wait was short, but it seemed like a good restaurant. The sushi restaurant next door is Korean, but this place seems to be Japanese. It’s also good to sell sake by the glass.

Update: we have moved but always make time for Izakaya! The nigiri is always delicious, but I never realized how special their menu is! So much to choose from and well prepared. Orig: This is the real deal. You won't find fusion, excellent sushi and traditional fare. The staff remembers you and are so friendly.

Cozy spot with about 6 tables and 10 bar seats. Super cute and quaint. Delicious authentic food! Would return!

The issue I had was not with my server but another one. All I want to say, If you are black don’t go there. You are not welcome. Tell me why this server refused to sit when I walked in the restaurant. Another kind older Asian lady did. I felt so uncomfortable, I took a couple bite and left.

Always worth a stop....The closest you can get to a true Japanese izakaya style restaurant in bay area, imho.

This feels like an authentic experience for a Japanese izakaya; however, when I came here with friends, noticed that the food was not as fresh and that the soup-based dishes were lacking in flavor and taste. This may just be a preferential taste but the eating experience was not as great as I had anticipated.

Authentic Japanese izakaya with a wide selection of delicious Japanese food, everything from ramen and sashimi to curry and bentos. Lots of great side dishes too, I personally enjoy the natto, sushi to pepper and tsukemono. They also have plenty of Japanese beers and sake. Open pretty late too (11pm) for when you get a late night craving for Japanese food.

This place was excellent. Tried an assortment of dishes and sushi and each was delicious. The staff was amazing as well. Very cute - small and chaotic but that's what makes it so charming.
