Matcha latte is one of those things thatâs hard to mess upâŠunless you start with low-quality powder. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case here. The matcha they use tastes astringent and bitter, and instead of letting the tea shine, itâs masked with honey and other flavors just to make it drinkable. Even when I ordered the âless sweetâ honey matcha, it still came across bitter and unbalanced. For the price they charge, I expected smooth, vibrant, high-quality matcha. Instead, it feels like youâre paying a premium for low-grade tea dressed up with sweeteners. Definitely disappointing given the cost. $1 extra for oat milk is criminal.

As expected, the matcha quality from Marukyu Koyamaen does not disappoint. Family brand that has been around for over 300 years. Initial sip has immediate strong matcha taste.
Love it! Place does get busy in weekends. They do Venmo and cash.

Best matcha ever! This is my matcha spot in san jose and i love it every time! their yuzu matcha and strawberry matcha are very refreshing and my favorite drinks to get when I go. I got a tin from them way back in 2023 and it was great! Highly recommend trying this spot out!

My 2 daughters love that place. Already pissed first time there, 1 kiosk and the line is so long. Don't bring cash because they have no human cashier. 20m-1hr minimum wait that's not including waiting in line. I felt being rush because of 1 kiosk machine. 2nd and 3rd times, including waiting in line and drink is almost an hour. Not worth my time, yelled at my girls no more. If they want matcha the have to go next door to Aroma. I think they don't really care about customer service!

One of the best matcha spots ever. The matcha has the right amount of flavor and boldness, without being bitter. I have a hard time picking my favorite drink, but you canât go wrong with the honey matcha latte or the strawberry matcha latte. Expect to wait in line, but it is worth it.

I've been going to Izumi for years and I've loved seeing the success they've been seeing recently. The drinks are always solid, service is always quick and nice, and I love how close I live to it haha. I never have to worry about my drinks being too weak and the flavor combos are top tier.
I just wish parking was better, the plaza is kind of a mess.

I absolutely LOVE the matcha here. my go-to order is the creme brûlée matcha and I am so obsessed!! my only complain would be the long wait and the store may be dirty sometimes.
