I cannot say enough wonderful things about Custom Cakes by Shavon! After SusieCakes canceled my already-paid-for order at the last minute due to an unnecessary issue with an open-box Barbie doll (something never mentioned in their ordering instructions), I was left scrambling just days before my friend's party.

Thankfully, I found Shavon, and she was an absolute lifesaver! Not only was she incredibly kind and understanding of my situation, but she also worked quickly to create the most stunning Barbie cake I could have ever imagined. She exceeded all expectations, and honestly, her work was far more beautiful than what I had originally ordered from SusieCakes.

Formerly known as Jen's Cakes, but they are known as CustomCakesbyShavon's. Their service was attentive to detail and quick to get back to me. Our custom order was exactly how was described it and a detail wasn't missed. The earlier you contact them about a custom cake, the more love and attention they will give your cake, so make sure to give at least a few weeks ahead of time to order your custom cake.

The New owner is an extraordinary baker specialized in delicious pies (so delicious !) and cannolis and many other delicious items! Professional and reliable, best in town! Highly recommended.

They are not professional, our cake was late , the decor , Plastic flowers, designer did a horrible job . Very disappointed for a $ 1500.00 cake . Worst of all she didn’t deliver the cake .

Had the most delicious and beautifully rustic two-tier cake!! There were very few to no regrets my husband and I had from our wedding, but one of them was that we wish we had more cake :P Both the Lemon cake with Strawberries and the Chocolate Chip cake were perfectly moist and just the right amount of sweet. We received many compliments from our guests saying this was one of the BEST wedding cakes they've ever had, including my brother/Man of Honor who is a baker/picky eater! We are so glad we went with Jen's and are truly grateful to them for being so accommodating from the beginning. Highly recommend!!

I ordered a two-tiered racing themed cake, smash cake, cupcakes, and cookies for my son’s first birthday party and was thrilled! I went in to brainstorm the design of the cakes/cookies and also had very specific dietary restrictions for the cake/cupcakes (no sugar, no salt). Shavon was able to accommodate all my requests. Everything came out delicious and looked way better than I could ever imagine.The best part of my order were the cookies. I ordered a total of 4 dozen cookies (various shapes/designs). They were delicious (not the least bit dry!) AND all so beautifully decorated. I’m already trying to think of the next occasion I can order sugar cookies. :) Highly recommend placing an order with Jen’s Cakes.

I stumbled across Jen's Cakes purely by accident while trying out the Too Good To Go app and picking up a surprise bag from Fit Food Cuisine which shares space. (They both share the same pickup door.) Due to an app notification sent in error, we arrived too early to pickup our order and Jen immediately set out to help us out by contacting the owner to see if she could assist. She was super friendly and even offered us some samples while we waited. Her chocolate cake cookie was AMAZING!!! The cupcakes samples were certainly very good, but the cookie was definitely the highlight of our adventure. Found out she is able to make both gluten free and vegan delights, so we are looking forward to trying those out in the future. Definitely worth a follow-up visit. Thanks for the southern hospitality Jen!

We contracted for a wedding cake which was to be delivered to the event venue at 3:00pm on Saturday, 28 August 2021. At 4pm the cake still had not arrived. At 4:15 pm the wedding planner contacted Jens Cakes. No one answered the telephone so voice messages were left. At 4:15 pm after not receiving responses, our planner contacted door dash so some kind of cake was available for the ceremony. At 4:50 pm, someone from Jens Cakes brought the cake to the venue. At this point it was left with the caterer as guests were arriving for the ceremony and the caterer was beginning refreshment services. The delivery person walked out without their final check payment. The next day we received an email asking for payment. No apologies and no excuses for being almost 2 hours late. I responded to the email outlining the aforementioned information. I reminded "Marlana" that we were well within our rights not to provide the final payment as the cake was almost 2 hours late and we incurred additional expense to have a cake door dashed for the ceremony. My wife and I talked it over and decided we didn't want to mar our special day with quibbling over the final payment. Our planner then sent the final check the very next day (Monday). Jens Cakes should have received the final payment no later than Friday the 3rd of September, however, the check has not been cashed. I have sent an e-mail and left several voice mails to determine if the check reached them. They have not responded to any form of communication. Although Jens Cake provided a beautiful cake for our wedding, heir internal processes leave alot to be desired. If you do order a cake from them be prepared for very poor follow though on the service end

I was very disappointed in my experience with Jen’s Cakes and I do not recommend their services to be trusted with large events such as a wedding.I’ve been in contact with them since the beginning of May discussing details for my wedding cake with them. My date, time, and location were confirmed and approved numerous times. I got frustrated that with every email I sent, a new person would respond and ask me to let them know what I was emailing about so they can help m, even though I was emailing on the same thread all my details were already shared on. In July, two months of conversations later, I emailed asking to arrange a phone instead to make everyone’s life easier. I was asked to submit a new inquiry AGAIN, with all my details including date, time, location. Even though this was odd considering I’ve already been in contact with them for two months, I did it. The response I received was “Sorry for the inconvenience but we actually won’t be available for your date because the bakery will be closed for the holidays!”So unorganized, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. When I emailed back expressing my dissatisfaction and disappointment especially because it was for my wedding, I got no apology and no response.

I don't normally post 2 star reviews but we were honestly just so disappointed with our cake. We chose Jen's cakes because the pictures looked great and they said they could do a shaped cake. I'm not a cake expert but the design felt relatively simple and we contacted them weeks in advance. You can see in my photo what we were expecting and what we got. Yes it *technically* was a round shape with a face, but it just felt so distorted (bizarrely tall, no dimpling at the top, eyes and smile placement is off, no blushy cheeks). My husband said it looked like Jack from Jack in the Box, I thought it looked like a snowman head. The only good thing was the raspberry cream cheese filling. We chose chocolate faustine as the cake flavor, which was described as a creamier chocolate. I don't know what it was supposed to be like, but our cake texture was just really dense and kinda dry.We splurged and paid $140 for this 7" round cake (for context, this cost half of what I paid for my wedding cake which was for 100+ guests!) because we wanted something special for our baby's first birthday. We really had higher hopes :( Giving 2 stars because the staff/people were nice.
