Lovely vegan/vegetarian cafe close to the airport. The food was fresh and delicious and the presentation was attractive. Also very fairly priced for the quality.

Update May 2023: OK, they must've had a bad day. I've gone back a couple more times and service has been fine. I guess just try to avoid when they're real busy.Update Apr 2023: the lady who I used to be waitress there is no longer there and service seems to have gone downhill. I went there for lunch the other day and first it took a while for her to take my order (it was busy, so that's understandable), then she apparently forgot my order entirely. I asked and she said yes, it's coming, so I waited some more, but it never came. Another customer who was seated after me got her order, ate it and left but I still hadn't gotten mine. After 45 minutes, I gave up and left.Orig review: Yummy vegetarian food. Their sides change daily, giving their dishes some variety. Quiet, very relaxed atmosphere. My gotos have been the minced pork, sacha tofu and braised tofu.

I've been wanting to try this place since I love good Chinese vegetarian food, which is suprisingly hard to find in the Bay compared to the LA area. They are closed on Sunday, so it's a bit harder to visit since I don't live in the South Bay. The interior of the restaurant is actually surprisingly cute and spacious considering it is sharing a space with a vegetarian/Taiwanese grocery store. There is ample booth and table seating. We were seated immediately on a Saturday at 11:30am. I ordered the Sacha vegan kidney rice plate. The dish came out super quickly at that time, though when we placed to-go orders close to noontime for our family it took a lot longer since the restaurant got a lot busier later on. The portion was pretty generous, and they give you a lot of veggies! For those of you who haven't had vegan kidney, it's typically made with konjac and potato starch, and has a very bouncy texture. Flavor of the dish is really good, though I found the vegan kidney to be a bit too salty and the cabbage had a bit too much sesame oil, to the point where it was kind of drenched in the oil especially towards the bottom. Overall though, I enjoyed my food and would definitely be back!

Growing up I've always gone to the temple once in awhile with my family and was able to try the wide variety of vegetarian dishes that were available. My mom also cooked up some dishes at home as well! This was my first time trying different vegetarian dishes as I've always been used to the Vietnamese cuisine. What we ordered: Japanese Style Eel Rice: 4/5 Right off the bat, this dish looked almost exactly like freshly grilled eel. It was mind-blowing. I also absolutely enjoy bok choy and was so glad that it came with it as well as some stir fried bean sprouts (just like my mom makes)! The "eel" itself was very meaty and flavorful, however, it had a slight sour taste to it. I enjoyed this dish nonetheless. Three Cup Chicken: 4.6/5 The "chicken" looked like sweet and sour chicken from Chinese takeout which was so cool. The texture was quite similar to the "eel" as well. I enjoyed the seasoning and glaze on this much more! I would order this again.

As I was browsing their menu from afar, there was one dish that caught my eye immediately: Japanese Style Vegan Unagi (Eel) ($12). I had to take a second glance and make sure that was correct... vegan. eel? Damn. This vegan unagi was BOMB. It looked like unagi. It tasted like unagi. It felt like unagi. We took it home where we cooked up some brown rice and veggies to go along, and our meal was amazing. I'm not sure what type of meat substitute was used - perhaps some type of soy. But the way it was cooked up with their sauce made for an amazing dish, and a fraction of what 'real' unagi would typically cost at a restaurant. Needless to say, I was so happy we stopped by and I look forward to returning again. I will return one day to try their desserts.
