Sad to report that there's a notice on the door "Closed Until Further Notice". (12/17/19) Hope Juan's Kitchen reopens soon!

The owner was displaced from the fires and is trying to make San Jose her new home, so come and show this place some support! She's the sweetest woman ever and it doesn't hurt that the food is actually quite good. I ordered 6 tacos to myself, ate them, and ordered another 5 to-go. I have a thing. For tacos. Juan's tacos. Yummmm.

4 Stars for quality and taste of the food. Good Vibes but nothing fancy. We'll be back to try more items on the menu. Tried out the chicken, carne asada and the al pastor tacos and they were good. Hubs had the Emolada chicken enchiladas and he recalled like them including rice and whole beans. They won't sell the Mole by the quart, we asked.

For celebrating Taco Tuesday in San Jose, these guys might be number Juan. Juan's Kitchen Taqueria Oaxaqueña popped up on my Yelp search with a shiny label of Hot & New. As luck would have it, I was looking for a lunch spot for Tuesday, and they're still offering all of their tacos for $1.00 on said day. The place is in the back corner of a plaza on Monterey and Chynoweth, right next to a church. If this sounds like a hole in the wall, then you'll be pleased to know that it looks just like one inside. White walls, blue lights strung on the ceiling, dark (but clean enough) restroom accessible only through the kitchen - need I say more? Well, I guess I should say something about the food: it was cheap, and it was good. Sure, there isn't a huge selection of meats, and they're not prepared in the Tijuana style which I'm accustomed to, but I enjoyed them overall. Carne asada isn't usually marinated, but I appreciated all of the delicious flavors which that provided. The al pastor was my next favorite, with appropriate spices despite the lack of pineapple. The chorizo was fine, and I've really never found any worthwhile chorizo at a taqueria anyway, so it's a wash. I could've used pollo that was less dry and salty though. Now the meats didn't get piled very high, and the tacos only came with one tortilla a piece, so you may be able to get away with ordering more tacos than you'd usually expect to. At least they remembered to cook those tortillas up, as well as provide radishes and lime. Cilantro and onions were just fine. The tacos weren't served with sauce, but they provided two squeeze bottles of what appeared to be a tomatillo salsa and some chili pepper-based orange sauce. Both sauces were a bit uncomfortably hot for me, so I didn't/couldn't end up saucing my tacos much. I like this Taco Tuesday deal at Juan's Kitchen, so I'd be more than happy to swing by if I'm around on a Tuesday. Time will tell if the quality changes or if the discount lasts, so I'd suggest stopping by sooner than later.

I just placed an order and on all of my burritos the beans are completely raw. I'm never ordering from here again, what kind of Mexican serves raw beans. I wish I can give no stars.

Probably not the most Oaxaca's looking restaurant but still from Oaxaca. Expecting a plate like in a regular restaurant! Well the food is serve in party containers with its separations but the food yummy and flavor full.

So this little spot I found on yelp . This taco shop was pretty good , very tasty tacos . I would have to say they are the best in the south side of San Jose . There like 1.95$ a taco not 1$ like the post say they are only Tuesday they have them for 1$ . This place is hidden in back of shopping center and hard to find . I like this place because there place focuses on just a couple of items and that's it . Burritos, tacos . Anyways check this place out very good .

Found this hole in the wall spot off Monterey Rd & the tacos are the BEST!! It's located right next to the church in the far corner. It's a new business, so I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon & 15 minutes later walked out with a bunch of tacos to take home. The tacos are $1.95 ($1 on Tuesdays), & come with cilantro, onion, lime, & radishes. The verde salsa that comes on the side is very good. I came back the following day for more! Here is what makes the tacos the best in my opinion..the meat! It's flavorful, zero fat & grit, & it makes the taco. I've had tacos from every place you can think of in SJ, & this is my new go-to. I spoke with the staff & they were so nice. I think it's important to support a family owned establishment. I really hope they stay in business. In addition to tacos, they sell other food items and the drinks include beer (Modelo/Corona), boba tea, hot chocolate & water. They are open until 11pm!

A MUST hole-in-the-wall to stop for some awesome tacos. Don't mind how it looks, the colored lights etc, you will love the tacos like we did. We were going to just try and get a few tacos, after tasting the few, we ordered a few more. 9 tacos by the time we left. All the meats were seasoned well, 3 sauces brought to the table for you to enjoy with your tacos. THESE ARE GOOD and fresh tacos. $1 tacos on Thursday. We will be back this Thursday for more tacos.

They posted their hours, but they don't honor it. Came here at 11:30 AM on a Saturday and waited 30 minutes. Nobody ever showed up or answered when I tried calling. They probably should just have a soft opening hours "warning" instead of committing to hours they can't honor. Incredible waste of my time. I'll update if I ever get to actually try their food.

Nice addition to the south side. Hidden gem in the plaza! Open late (greatly appreciated). Tacos & boba. I like the al pastor one. They have other item menus that look good. Family owned restaurant vibes. I want to try the taco pizza next time!

This is hands down a great NEW little taqueria to check out if you're in the mood for good value tacos! They have an amazing $1 tacos deal going on so go and try them before the promo is over! They have pollo, chorizo, carne asada, and al pastor tacos. My boyfriend and I have tried them all and are happy to say they are all really good! I ordered the mexican pizza and tostada one time and they were also tasty! They also serve ALCOHOLIC drinks like sangria, mojitos, and beers. I love their sangria! AND they serve BOBA!!! The service is outstanding! Mitchel took our order and accommodated us throughout the night. My boyfriend and I tend to need a little extra of everything like limes and napkins and we always feel bad asking servers BUT the service here was awesome! Mitchel was always happy to bring us whatever we needed. These guys know how to treat their customers right! Definitely ask for Mitchel, he will make sure you leave satisfied! The taqueria itself has ample space to sit inside, there's no outdoor seating. The place is covered in pretty colored lights and the music often varies but its usually a good mix of everything. My boyfriend and I seem to come back almost every Tuesday for tacos!! 10/10 :)

Now one of my favorite places to pick up tacos! I learned of this place on yelp so I decided to check it out for the $1 tacos. I went in and ordered, the man working was kind. I ordered it to go and he walked to the table where I was seated and handed me the bag. I wasn't disappointed by them at all! The meat was well seasoned, there was a decent amount of onions and cilantro and they put lime, radishes and 2 types of salsas at the side. They also weren't stingy about the meat which I was surprised by. I'm excited to try their other items. Definitely worth coming and trying
