I discovered this restaurant when I was looking for to-go foods before heading to the drive-ins. I love sushi and decided to give this a try. I always order a bento box as it comes with miso soup and salad. One of the options was a chopped 6oz sirloin steak that was part of the bento box. All I can say is that is the best steak I have ever had in my life. The steak is so tender and the flavor just melts in your mouth and I definitely recommend trying this with your bento box. Overall a great place, the staff is really friendly and would recommend anyone who loves sushi for to-go. I am honestly a loyal customer. Hope to be back again to try more items.

This place is so disappointing time and time again Ive gave them a second chance but this was my last time , sushi is not fresh taste weird , they always mess up on my order, this location is terrible the one on Branham is 20x better than this one it's like two different restaurants I don't understand how the quality it so terrible at this location but the one in Branham I've never had an issue ... put a picture of my "baked mussels " literally no not type of sauce wasn't baked at all the Branham location would've never gave me this .. I've officially gave up on this location

I completely forgot about my last experience here until i went looking for some late night sushi. In beginning of November last year, I ate here with my mom. I used to love this place, but I caught food poisoning from a funny tasting california roll. I'm glad it was at least me who ate it and not my mom, because with her age and condition, this caliber of food poisoning could have killed her. I threw up every 15 minutes for half a day, and had a killer head ache afterwards from dehydration. Now is a good time for me to share this experience because its a scary time for anyone to feel ill.

Hidden gem in San Jose. We stayed near hotel and stopped by for sushi for dinner. This spot is open until 10pm, fresh and yum sushi. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 5 Food Taste: 5 Recommend: great at night draft beer. Server are very friendly and cool! Definitely check it out.
I am a regular customer at CHA CHA SUSHI but I choose to try Kampai sushi since CHA CHA has long waiting list. BUT This place is awsome since they have new management all the chef's are experienced over 30 yrs and server's are AWSOME!! Foods get so much better than before, service is wonderful!!! I highly recommend this place MUST try!

As much as we've really like Kampai Bar and Grill in the past - something has gone wrong at the Grill! Service has been very lack luster the last couple visits - and this evening the Sushi Bar was weird. The cook/manager had most of the bar blocked off as reserved - however the 1 1/2 hours we were there no one was seated. Until a pair showed up around 8 pm that seemed to know the cook and fist pumped each other. We learned the cook/manager has been blocking off the Sushi Grill just recently - maybe protecting him from the flu - however when the fist pumpers showed up - no problem. They were seated in from of the sushi chef. This may have been our last visit to Kampai Bar and Grill. Really disappointed.

My girl and i decided to go to Cha Cha Sushi but they were closed on a Sunday not sure why so i had made reservations through yelp just in case so we decided to come here. We got here and they were not packed thank goodness for a sunday i believe. I got the bento box with beef teriyaki spicy tuna roll and tempura. And my girl got the hamachi with tempura. We also got edamame which i thought super good. Our whole bill came out to $41.00 with tip it was $48.00 i thought it was kinda pricey but its okay we were at a sushi restaurant definitely expected. The beef i asked to have them cook it rare and they were able to do it but it wasnt really rare. and i replaced all my tempura with shrimp instead for a few bucks extra. The spicy tuna roll was not the great as i am not a sushi person but i love bento boxes and poke bowl..but i wanted to try it. Will i b back? yea i thought our bento boxes were good.
