Excellent and delicious South Indian food! We recently catered for two events from them, including a live Dosa station. Very responsive and friendly staff. The food was on time and everyone enjoyed it very much.
Had an excellent experience both in person and via catering. Quality and taste are a 11/10 for me. Received a lot of compliments from guests for the catered lunch and dinner. The catering menu has very interesting items that are not the usual kind we find around. The person who assisted with catering was patient and made the process really simple. Will recommend this place a 100%!

We had catered paruppu vada from Kovai Cafe for a festival event. The item was well appreciated by all. The restaurant owners/management were very friendly and helpful. They were very responsive, polite, flexible and had the order ready on time.

The meals here are like hot, spicy and steamy on par with the owner madhampatty's affair. But the taste stays loyal unlike him.

Our dine-in experience was disappointing on our first visit. The aloo masala in the dosa was overly salty, and the chutneys were quite average in taste. The most unpleasant part was the strong odor from table cleaning as we were about to leave, which completely ruined the experience. Unfortunately, we do not plan to return and would not recommend this place

Absolutely loved the meals 🥲—they tasted so close to homemade and instantly took me back to my Chennai days. Ended up in a full-meal food coma 🫠 and, of course, wrapped it up with filter coffee as usual. Cauliflower 65 was 🤤. The only slight letdown was the roti, which didn’t feel as satisfying compared to the rest of the spread. They promised hot, fresh appalam, but it came a bit late. Still, with the crowd on weekends, it’s understandable. All in all, definitely a Sunday bliss, especially during the Puratasi month 😶

Guys East or West- for South Indian Vegetarian food- Kovai Cafe is the best. Recently Chef Kartik introduce Benne Dosa in various form which is simply superb. 8 AM open for bfast is one of the best desicions by mgmt. Sbux opens for business daily at 5 AM so it's appropriate for a bfast place to open at 8 and not any later.

I’ll be honest—my past couple visits to Kovai Cafe were pretty disappointing. When the store was brand new, food quantity was questionable, and the dishes felt like they were still in beta testing and the manager wasn’t open to feedback. The thayir vada? Tasted like it got lost on its way to being edible—some random mush with yogurt vibes but no soul. My next pickup order was a mess too—wrong dish, no apology. I had pretty much written them off.
But this weekend, I gave them one last shot and… wow. The happy hour combo totally changed my mind. One came with mini dosa, pongal, kesari, and vada; the other had mini millet dosa, millet pongal, millet sweet pongal, and coffee or tea. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned—the “mini” dosa was basically full-sized! The chutneys were on point, and the whole meal felt like a feast.
