If you're craving a taste of Vietnam with a side of sweetness, savory, or both, look no further than this adorable bakery. From traditional Vietnamese snacks to mouthwatering baked goods, every bite is so flavorful. The family-owned atmosphere adds an extra layer of warmth, with the owners always ready with a smile and helpful suggestions. I heard a lot of great things about this place but was sorely disappointed. Pros: fair price point for the product/quality, chill employee, decent serving size, lots of options. Cons: food is left out for way longer than it should be/improper food storage/temps so be carefulWe bought quite a bit of food. Most of it was edible, but my mungbean with preserved egg pastry ended up being rotten. At first, when cutting it in half, I just figured the smell/flavor of the egg was a bit off, as it was overly metallic as opposed to its usual taste. However, we worked our way around the cake as we where breaking it off for everyone to share, only to cut it open to unveil green mold at the table. (Outside looked fine but on one side of the inside of the cake it was fully a dark fuzzy green). We threw it out immediately and stopped eating it after that. Super disappointing. As someone who at least knows the basics about the food industry, this would NEVER happen if the inventory was well managed, so that food dates where properly logged, with temps logged at least three times a day, etc. It’s not hard to prevent food from molding if it’s well taken care of. No pics bc I don’t want to gross anyone out for reasons explained bellow:The rest of the food was okay. Not the greatest dim sum, etc. but worth the price point. However, the lack of care for the item, makes me worry about the quality of the rest of the food here. If they took better care of their items, it would totally be worth getting. Not giving it 1 star bc hopefully this was a one time fluke due to some lack of foot traffic or whatever, that they can hopefully fix. Will revisit in the future and hopefully update the review.
Love the sesame balls and the Chinese donuts from this shop. Whenever I am in San Jose, I would stop by here to buy these two items. The banh bo nuong is also good here as well, the last time I came they sold out.The banh cuon here is also very good. You can call ahead and they can prepare a platter that is enough to serve for at least three to fours person for lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price. One thing I really like is the banh cuon platter from here comes with all the vegs like bean sprout, mints etc. don’t forget to buy banh cong, it would paired perfectly with the banh cuon. The service is amazing!! Highly recommended this family owned shop.
A hole in the wall “bodega” for fast eats, random dim sum cravings, viet ingredients, and fresh produce on the weekends.
Come first thing in the morning and everything is so fresh. I love getting the dim sum, steamed pork buns, and the coconut buns. Their banh cuon has so much meat in it if you want to order a party tray.
Fried food (egg roll and shrimp ball) was cold and old. The shop was very hot and stuffy, but they did look like if the food was fresh it would have been great. I think serving cold food that was cooked many hours before is something that no place should do and they should know better.

They hand make the crust of their egg tarts, which are very yum nice balance of slightly sweet, crispy and flaky layers.I also recommend their coconut and butter bun! Xui mai Quail EggI generally love most of their baked items. In my purchase I also get a sandwich or 2Gogogo
Shrimp spring rolls were good. I will try something else on my next visit. The Bakery you pay in cash unless you spend more than $15.00 then they'll take debit/credit card.
A solid Vietnamese bakery. The $2.50 banh bo ("cow cakes") were very flavorful, if a bit dense. There's also typical "Chinese bakery" food like cha siu bao (pork buns) and hot dog buns ($2 each). No complaints about the sesame balls and spring rolls, ~$1.50 each.
Today I purchased 6 pieces of mochi ($1/each)from this bakery. When I got home they tasted sour and had to throw them all out. Obviously these are at least 1-2 days old (probably leftovers from before New Years). Be careful when buying from them. Taste first of you can. I was grossly disappointed. I called to complain and they thanked me for “letting them know”. Hello?? You don’t know you’re selling something old to your customers??! Was it worth my $6?? I will think twice before buying from them again. Be careful when buy from from L & M Bakery & Deli on Berryessa Rd.
This place has it all . The bakery is high quality. I love the pastry’s there. Price are reasonable. The food selection is a lot . You have lunch menu , to go platters and even frozen items like egg roll . The only bad thing is parking. It’s really hard to find parking.#GoProAgent #SanJoseValues #MegaAgent
