AMAZING, DELICIOUS, AUTHENTIC

this restaurant is the definition of a hidden gem. Knew it was a good restaurant when our friends said that they dined here weekly (and they're from cheng du so they know what's up)

Super clean and stylish restaurant space with prompt service, which complimented the incredible food.

We got three dishes, but their fried coated tofu was mouthwateringly delicious. Each bit gave a crisp texture that collapsed into a juicy savory center that oozed into a beautifully umami sauce. The outside was seasoned too for exploding flavor every single bite. Get it for sure (包浆豆腐). I did not exaggerate how good it was.

I honestly think their hot bowls could be better seasoning wise but I'm not complaining with the amount of portions they served up. Honestly kind of hard to find a place with such a friendly price. Very reasonable indeed.

Overall this restaurant is epic. We're going to be regulars from now on.

The Malatang does not taste very fresh and the soup base was not spicy and flavorful, but the price was okay.

Great food with a great atmosphere, though it should be known that there is a $25 minimum for card transactions, and that they are not open between 2-5PM. Even then, Local Chengdu is a great place to wind down and have some authentic Chinese food.

My family is from Chengdu so I had to try this place out. It's pretty good! There are dishes here that I haven't seen elsewhere, like the wolf tooth potatoes and pea jelly. Portions are big while prices aren't bad at all. We got the sliced beef hot bowl, potatoes, pea jelly, and fried pork appetizer. The lady working there was also super nice even though she was the only one helping all the tables. They do preset tip at 18% but I actually wish I could have given more so I'm writing this review hoping to encourage more people to try them!

I'm greedy for duck blood. This dish is not available in the store. The boss is very talkative and changed it with Maoxuewang without much increase in price. too delicious! Thumbs up! Looking forward to adding it to the official menu soon!

Came here on a weekday for dinner for a group of three. I've been on the lookout for a dry pot around the Bay Area, and I think this was the best one I've tried so far!

There weren't many other diners in the store although I think it may have more pick up orders. The location of the shop seems to be random in West SJ, but I'm glad we stumbled upon it! It deserves more recognition. I found it on Google Maps while shopping at the nearby mall. The parking lot is spacious.

We all got a free plum juice! It went well with our flavorful foods.

For an appetizer, we got the Sichuan style popcorn chicken. It seemed like the chicken was chopped roughly, not like traditional American popcorn chicken or Taiwanese dark meat. We had a similar dish in SoCal in the 626 area, so we were excited to try it here. I am glad it came with a lot of Szechuan peppers because we ate that for extra spice along with our dry pot. It was so addicting! We were glad to use other Yelp reviews as reference.

We got a large house special dry mixed bowl and added yam pasta, which is a chewy, glass pasta that I love the texture of. This came with two bowls of rice and was meant for 2 people, but I think we could've finished the whole thing if we didn't order the chicken. The flavor was great and although the bottom could be a bit oily, it went well with our rice. I liked that it came with a pre-set combination of toppings too. I feel like for places that let you choose your own toppings, it can add up to a lot. They don't skip out on any of the toppings here. For protein, we chose sliced beef, and there was SO MUCH of it.

Overall I'd totally recommend this spot! I wonder how the rest of their dishes are, but the two we got were solid. The service was great and they were very open to answering questions we had if we walked up to the counter.
