Our server Shanti made this a memorable experience. I am Italian and live in Panama City, Florida. When I came to San Jose for work my friend said i had to try this restaurant. So grateful for the recommendation. And if you do come, you may want to ask for this delightful and full of energy server named “Shanti.” Better than Chianti :-)

I stopped by for dinner with my partner a few nights ago and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great thanks to our server Shannon. She recommended that I pair the Brunello with the carbonara and it did not disappoint. Overall a great experience, and this place is now one of our favorites. We can’t wait for our next visit. Highly recommend Locanda Ischia!

Sat at the bar, which had a friendly welcoming atmosphere. They have a good selection of quality Italian wines, a bit young, but since it is a newly opened restaurant that is expected. Very drinkable. Sampled the carbonara. Really excellent. Pasta was firm and tasty. Pork cheeks were a nice addition. All in all a very pleasant time.

I had tried this franchise in Campbell and it was solid if not amazing. A solid B. As they opened a location closer to us, we thought we would try.
We made a reservation. They had trouble finding it. Maybe had a hard time hearing, the 2/3rds full place was very loud. We got water than sat for 20 minutes, no drink order, no checkin if we were ready to order. Ignored. I mentioned it to the staff member passing. More time passed. It was so unpleasantly loud, we could not imagine coping through an overly lengthy meal with indifferent service. We left. Better options in WG.

First time in, this place was incredible. Very cute interior, cozy and welcoming, yet spacious. We ordered the focaccina which was so fresh, soft and flavorful. We also ordered the special of the night, cacio e pepe served table side, which was absolutely incredible. Lastly we ordered the lasagna, which had the most balanced sauce I've ever had paired with the most tender lasagna noodles I've ever had.

Had a lovely time at Locanda Ischia last week. They recently opened up and the vibe is amazing. Really feels like Italy. The owner of the restaurant was working at the restaurant as well and making sure that every guest enjoyed their diner and evening. If you can’t choose what you want from the menu, I definitely recommend the Gnocchi with class of red wine, I enjoyed the Primitivo with it.
Would definitely visit again soon. Great job all!

I’ve been here twice now, and my experience the first time was a miss (exception David the Bartender) and the second time was better, but didn’t wow me.
I’d be willing to give it a third chance, but not for awhile.
First visit: Overall, food was “just ok” for the price, $16-25 for small-ish appetizers (Could be divided by 4) and feeling like we are being rushed out by bussers while I server was missing a good chunk of the evening.
I came with friends for a going away party. David the bartender was the highlight. Our server was sort of attentive until we wanted to order and then it seemed like they were nowhere to be found and we were waiting and waiting to be able to flag them down. There was a trainee that came to check on us and we let them know we were ready.
We ordered several small plates and ended up with one of them being wrong and meat based. Not great for the vegetarian in the group, but because our server wasn’t flaggable and didn’t check on us we couldn’t really send it back. One of the other tables of 6 got a grand song by our server for the patrons birthday so we couldn’t figure out what was going on (some got excellent service and some didn’t)
The interesting part about this was there were so many bussers and they were aggressive with clearing plates to the point it was almost disruptive. At one point we had taken our last bite of food and were still chewing and they came to take our plates. We also had to let them know several times that we were still working on some of our small plates.
Second visit: Our server was present and attentive (moving Locanda from 2 stars to 3). She was great,, in fact. Although David the bartender wasn’t there, she got the drink close to what David made and I super appreciated her effort. Overall Shonte’s service was good and as the table we had appetizers (focaccia, fiori, salads) and we had standard menu fare (ravioli of sorts) and the special as well (fettuccini). Portions for the entrees were good and our dessert, tiramisu, also acceptable). The aggressive bussing was still there, but the service was better so it balanced it out a little. This visit was slightly redeeming and although we likely wont try to go back in the near future, we won’t avoid it if someone suggests it.

Had a wonderful Father's day meal. Staff was attentive ,food was great. My only criticism is that there wasn't bread for the table and I didn't see on the menu if you had to order it. Otherwise excellent!

Five stars for the food and atmosphere….the service was off quite a bit, but I blame the fact they just opened, and will give them some grace. We have really enjoyed the location in Campbell and was excited to see them open in Willow Glen….especially since we frequented Vin Santo over the years. I hope they improve their service in the next month or so as they get through the weeds of opening a new restaurant, and I intend to revisit again hoping for a new experience that is basic at best….and I hope Davide picks up some better techniques to offer drinks, take dessert orders, and even a better initial welcome….I love tipping big, but couldn’t tonight. Maybe next time.
