It was fantastic! We tried the bread pudding and loved it — absolutely delicious. The complimentary chips and house-made salsa were incredibly tasty. The gluten-free flourless flan cake was soft and melted in your mouth. And the horchata was smooth and perfectly balanced!
The food is amazing and the portions are sufficient for a hungry stomach. The service and environment are excellent for a comfortable conversation.
It is a comeback for sure.
LUNA Mexican Kitchen is a wonderful gem that stands a notch above the rest. The cozy indoor seating looked inviting, but we chose to sit outside where the shaded patio made for the perfect dining experience on a warm day.
The menu is filled with tempting options, but we went straight for the Parrilladas for two—and wow, bring your appetite! This dish could easily feed three, maybe even four. It’s a flavorful adventure packed with juicy ribs, sausage, carnitas, free-range chicken, and more. Every bite was delicious, but the standout for us was the bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with jalapeño—absolutely incredible.
To top it off, our server was fantastic. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the entire meal feel special. LUNA is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. We’ll definitely be back.
Great food and service
The best authentic Mexican restaurant I tried in the area to date. Highly recommend trying their fajita served in an individual stone grill (see photos) and house margaritas. They have plenty of covered seating out on the patio for warmer days and evenings to come. The price is a bit high for the overall quality, in my opinion. Regardless, will return for sure.
We went to dinner there and had a wonderful meal. Sat outside, gorgeous early evening. Service was fine, just slow getting our bill. Really nice environment, great food. Looking forward to our next visit.
I have a lot of food sensitivities which makes quality ingredients a must. I enjoyed the meal, but most importantly I felt nourished an hour later. I can tell these were quality fresh ingredients. The tamales were moist, the chile relleno de calabacita was tasty and not greasy, the pozole felt like I was in a home kitchen in Mexico. I loved the presentation of all of our dishes. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu!
Best mole!
This is THE MEXICAN RESTAURANT of the Alameda by far. The people enter here and they feel transported almost immediately to their favorite location in Mexico. The music is fantastic, the food is a gift from the heavenly chefs of the kitchen....EVERYTHING is delicious and it feels prepared with love. It is a place to stay the whole day, from dusk til dawn (better said from when they open until they close). The staff are the best too, nice, funny, friendly, they speak Spanish and English, and they keep the food and tortillas coming without asking you a thing. They care about you! I'm definitely coming back to LUNA

Good Mexican food but I feel it’s a bit pricey for the quality of the food

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on a drive to Santa Cruz. It was absolutely fantastic! All of the food was delicious, but I will call out the charred sweet potato appetizer as being incredible. I got both a Cadillac margarita and a house margarita (don't judge, I was on vacation), and they were both very good. A great spot in every way, I wish I lived closer, now I've got to find excuses to drive through Los Gatos again!

Food and service is very nice. But the location definitely has room for improvement. Otherwise clean restaurant with its own parking lot
