We dined at Lunas on the Alameda in San Jose twice. Both times we enjoyed excellent service and the food is wonderful. I would encourage you to give it a try.

Getting Cochinita Pabil to split for two. Pork was super tender and the pickeled red onions. The Queso with homemade corn tortillas. Our server, Able was on top of it! He spoke to the bartender to ask about making a Oaxacan Old Fashioned (not on menu). The Lunarittas are great!

We went at a very busy time so waited longer than normal. The server was scrambling to cover all their tables so things were slower than I wanted. I also wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options so I could vary my order when I visit. All in all though. The food is creative, fresh, and delicious!

I love this place! The Paloma cocktails and chilaquiles are so yummy. The homemade chips and the avocado dip is so delightful. Ray, our server was awesome. The decor is cute and fun. I have had many a meal here and will have many more

One of the yummiest carne asada burritos I've had in a while! You HAVE to get it wet with green sauce- trust me on this! The sauce just adds the perfect tangy/citrus flavour that brings all of the flavours together perfectly! The staff were all super nice too, and the ambiance was super cute in the outside patio that I was seated at. Definitely coming back again!

We were a large crowd without a reservation & they made it work within 15 minutes. Alexis the manager was so nice & the host quickly got us seated. We were served by Josiah and he was incredibly attentive & had great suggestions on what to pair with our food and what we should try. 10/10 recommended and would absolutely come again

Well, first of all, we were a big crowd, and we were a little concerned that they wouldn't be able to see us considering it was a weekend afternoon. The host and staff worked their magic and provided us a huge table for our large party of over 12 people! (we even had a couple children with us) the food and drink was absolutely amazing, I'm still dreaming about the crispy shrimp tacos, and our amazing waiter, Josiah, recommended this amazing skinny prickly pear cocktail that was absolutely perfect. we will definitely be returning and I cannot wait until the warmer days come or we can sit in their outdoor area

Completely tasteless, uncooked food! We had ordered the Veggie grill. It was bland with unsalted veggies and no spices. The "cauliflower steak", 2 small carrot chunks and onions were uncooked. The "chille rellenos" was just one deseeded poblano chilli stuffed with some cheese, nothing else. Waste of money! Will never visit again. Update: The owner, Jo, reached out to me asking about the dish I had ordered. I gave her the details of what I felt were the shortcomings. She immediately apologized for the poor quality of the food. She also ordered the same item off of their menu, for her lunch the next day and saw that it was exactly as I had described. Jo has since talked to her chef and asked for this dish to be redone. She also was gracious enough to refund our cost, which is a very rare gesture nowadays. I really appreciate her kindness, her willingness to take feedback, address the issue. Her effort to provide good quality, healthy food, and give back to the community is commendable. While my first experience was not good with regards to the food, I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant and enjoying the other dishes they have on the menu. We do plan to go back another time. Please support this business and help them grow. They are worth it!

When we first walked up to the restaurant it was so full and there were a ton of people waiting outside so we were expecting a long wait. We were pleasantly surprised when we were seated within 15 minutes. We sat outside and were given complimentary chips and salsa which is always a plus. I went with one of my vegetarian friends and she was very happy with all the vegetarian options. The food and service was amazing! I had shared an allergy I have and the waiter kept checking on the ingredients of all the dishes I ordered to make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction. Definitely recommend getting any of their smoothies as well, very refreshing!
