I had a terrible experience at the Oakland Rd (San Jose) McDonald’s on Saturday, March 8. I ordered an iced coffee but immediately realized I could use a promo code for a discount. I politely asked the cashier for a refund so I could reorder with the code. A younger Asian cashier called over an older Spanish-speaking employee to process the refund.
To my shock, the older employee refused, saying I should have used the code initially. When I explained it was an honest mistake and asked again, she became visibly upset and rudely said she would refund the money but would not allow us to reorder—denying service to all three of us!
I have been a loyal McDonald's customer for years, and I have never encountered such unprofessional and hostile behavior. Frustrated, I left without further discussion. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the employee’s name, but she was a short, plump, older Spanish-speaking woman working around 1 PM on Mar 08, 2025.
I hope McDonald's management reviews this incident and ensures employees are properly trained in customer service. This type of treatment is unacceptable.

There was no cars in line and no cars waiting at the window for an order. Somehow the person taking my order said "okay, if you want a water cup you have to order inside" i said "okay, thank you. I'll do it next time forsure." And they said "okay". I drove to grab the water and the guy didnt do the favor of atleast taking the order anyway although there was nobody in the line! I dont understand isnt that what the drive thru is for? I eat at mcdonalds 2 times a week and am also a rewards member. Im confused why im forced to get off the car and order the water cups inside? Hopefully this helps.

I’m super disappointed in the service here. This morning at 6am I had a delivery and I showed Ms. Minella the app for the order to pick up. She was clueless. She made me pull to the side and wait and she was very rude. Make sure to talk to a. Manager about orders because I felt the push back from employees who are not trained well.

Where’s the 1 missing chicken nugget in my order, 10 pc chicken nuggets? Apparently, they didn’t count and check before handing to the customer.

Well, I don't eat here any more but this corporation has made it clear it backs, and is aligned with, a politician who has stated many time that he will send the US military after anyone he doesn't like. So I feel I'd better leave a good review or I might wake up one morning and find a US Army tank on my front lawn, taking aim. So if you agree with this politician and with idea that McDonald's should support extremist politicians, eat here. If not, don't.
