I wasn’t disappointed with my torta de milanesa or my Vampiro drink. The only thing I wished for was some AC inside.
Tortas are amazing!!
The service is really slow here, I waited 40 minutes for one torta!
I believe I've had a torta from this business before but in a different location. When I had it back then, I really enjoyed the torta milanesa. It was a big torta and had queso mexicano, avacado, a good portion of the milanesa meat among some other ingredients. That was like a 4 star torta. Very good. This time at the Mexico Bakery next to the 101 exit over the bridge, it was not as great. The meat was a little burnt and the flavors were not as savory. I did enjoy the food but it was closer to a 3-3.5 star quality.
However my overall experience has been good at this business and I've had good tortas here. I ate my torta with a Mexican coke and that was delicious. I hope to return and try other menu items that may change my impression of the food quality. I ended up paying around 25 dollars just for my meal and drink so it was a little expensive. It's sort of standard pricing for a meal in the Bay area though. If you visit, I hope you have a great dining experience.
Don’t like to be this way but, honestly this place is good and their food as well….. but the service is the worst…. This ladies at the front likes to gossiping around instead of helping the costumers, I don’t care and don’t mind wherever they are taking about but every time I’m there buying food I really need to wait long periods for them to help me out…. And plus they are helping and they keep talking to each other and it’s like hello you have a line please hurry up…. And they act like they don’t care about costumers….
The price are high, I considered other places to buy conchas and teleras.
Very friendly, I have always liked the cakes here a lot

Delicious pan dulce, but a bit overpriced.
Really lovely bakery with great staff! They had a wide selection of pan dulces that all looked very yummy! But, don’t miss out on their tortas, I had the asada one and it hits all the marks. Thick layers, generous portions, a nice sesame bread, and the flavors are perfect, one the best in the bay honestly. Worth a visit!

Mexico Bakery in Alum Rock is a local gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican baked goods and savory treats. Their signature *tortas* are generously filled, fresh, and bursting with flavor, making them a standout favorite. The selection of pan dulce is impressive, with soft, perfectly sweetened options like conchas and empanadas that taste fresh from the oven. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are hearty. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, although it can get busy during peak times. If you're in the area, this bakery is a must-visit for delicious, authentic Mexican food and pastries.
Vegetarian options: Although most non-bakery items are not vegetarian the shop workers are bberry helpful and accommodating
