Drinks are good but you have to use a tablet to order and it still asks you to leave a tip. A tip for what?

I have lots of mixed feelings about this place. It really depends on what time you go at. The fries are very tasty and I like the fruity milk teas a lot. My favorite part about this place, though, is the ramen vending machine + the late night hours. I'm a night owl so being able to get hot fresh vegan ramen and a sweet drink is really nice. The problems are that when it's busy I've waited an hour for 4 drinks. They seem pretty understaffed. Sometimes it's not very clean and sometimes there's an odd smell. When I see a line or more than a few people, I walk out the door now.But overall I love being able to come here at 11 and get a meal and a drink.

Watery drinks. Overcooked boba. Not much flavor. Other than that pretty good.

We ordered the boba milk tea pot - its the first place I've seen that offers a more hands-on approach. Our group of 4 enjoyed the tiny cups, the self-serve toppings easily available at our table, and also the cute presentation of it all. Is it really a novel idea? Nope, but it's a cute twist to your standard boba especially when there are kids there. The store also had some board games and a soup dispensing machine (which we did not purchase from) so there was a nice vibe. There was only one staff working during the holiday times, but she was friendly and helpful.

Sad to see that recommended 18% tip for a milk tea order that I'm picking up. Mango tea was good but only come here as a last resort.

Twice now, The Lab Fries have been delivered in a packed delivery box with only fraction of the toppings shown in the menu photo, and not in their historically-typical clamshell takeout box in which they can be directly reheated and eaten. You cannot possibly eat this dish straight from a Chinese food delivery box. Pulling out a fry brings out ALL the cheese and toppings at once if you try because the box is godawful narrow and the toppings all clot together into a plug as they cool off during delivery. So at best you get to eat the dish upside down with all the toppings in a clump at the bottom because this packaging means you have to dump it out on your own plate (and do dishes, etc). And even if you do heat it and take the time to try to somehow get cheese and other stuff on top again, you'll find out they only included about 1/4 of the bacon bits that provide the protein because they only put in enough for the box opening, not a plate. This was Milk Tea Lab's best dish by far (and the only particularly well-reviewed one on DoorDash) until they ruined it, but that appears to be a permanent decision on their part. After getting screwed twice in a row Milk Tea Lab has lost my business, and this will be my last time ordering from this location. Between this and other surprises in the past like sometimes receiving panko shrimp and fish when they specifically advertise and show tempura batter, I simply don't trust Milk Tea Lab anymore. The shrimp are even CALLED "Tempura Shrimp" on their menu and some will be randomly panko instead. They're simply much too willing to deliver something different than advertised.

I came here for dessert after having eaten at Von's in the same plaza. The aesthetics of this place was very cute and I like the periodic table and the Lab vibe they're going for. Seems like a fun place to hang out with friends as they had a few board games, a crane machine and one of those ramen making machines. You order the kiosk and they only have 2 sizes of drinks - Large and Giant. There was plenty of options, more than your usual regular boba place. I liked that they had non-dairy options and caffeine options. My boyfriend got a Strawberry Milk tea and I got the sweet milk with grass jelly. At first I was afraid when I drank the sweet milk that it was dairy based because it literally just tasted like whole milk but we had no repercussions after so phew! It definitely wad dairy free! The grass jelly in it was also a nice touch.

The mango lover smoothie is really good. I’ve had it at multiple locations. The calamari rings I got today were nearly burnt and did not taste good.

tl;dr Watered down, basically undrinkable boba, but cool food machine in the cornerMy fiancée and I have been looking for possible boba caterers for our wedding and found Milk Tea Lab through a Google search. We came to this location to try it out to see if we liked it enough. When we entered at 3 pm the Sunday after Thanksgiving, it was empty. They're open super late until midnight, so maybe it's busier at those hours. Card transactions are required as it doesn't seem like they take cash. There is no human interaction until getting the drink as orders are taken on a tablet. My fiancée ordered the jasmine tea with honey boba (on the favorites list) and I got a mango milk tea with mango stars. My fiancé's grimacing face upon his first sip said it all. I tried it myself and confirmed that it tasted like strange water with boba. No tea taste at all. The boba was decently chewy though. My drink was noticeably better, with recognizable mango taste but a slightly powdery mouthfeel. The mango stars were my favorite part of the drink, so the toppings are good here at least. Considering both drinks, unfortunately I cannot recommend Milk Tea Lab for boba. We didn't try the food here, but it's definitely a no go for boba.
