Great food, sweet staff
Mimi’s Kitchen is so yummy! The prices are affordable, the portion sizes are great and the staff are very friendly! I often get raw salmon and it’s always fresh!

Broad menu covering rice, udon and sushi dishes. Mix of Japanese and Korean food. Some of the dishes were quite unique. Great service

This is a nice little hidden gem with a variety of Korean and Japanesen dishes! There's a bunch of popular appetizers like cheese corn, edamame, gyoza, takoyaki, miso soup, and shrimp tempura. They also have a huge variety of sizzling rice bowls served in a stone bowl with different kinds of proteins. One kind that I wasn't expecting was chicken/pork katsu with curry. They also have 3 kinds of ramen, chicken/pork belly/beef. They have nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and all the popular sushi rolls! They also have fried udon if you're into stir fried noodles. If you like classic soup udon, they have that too! Finally, the last main dish on their menu is hot pot.
We came here for dinner and got the pork belly ramen and lion roll, both of which were delicious! The prices here also seem fair with their portion sizes.

Exceptional! Wow... highly recommend!
After reading the reviews, I decided to have my birthday lunch here.
We ordered the sizzling rice eel. Soooo good.
My friends ordered the Chicken Udon, the Beef Ramen, and the California Roll.
After sampling each other's dish, we all agreed it was some of the best Japanese infusion we have ever had.
The gyoza and spring rolls were very tasty as well.
No beer or saki for sale (bummer)...

My favorite local spot that has never disappointed with any entree. I ordered their curry chicken katsu sizzling plate and my partner ordered the pork belly sizzling plate.
While the curry is thinner than I’m used to at other katsu places, there is still a lot of flavor! There’s also a garlic miso butter they put on top of the rice that melts beautifully and blends all the flavors perfectly.
10/10 do visit. Portions are big, price is reasonable

We got the sizzling short rib with pepper rice, pork belly ramen, and takoyaki and this is one of the best Asian cuisine we’ve had in the bay! Ramen was really good and so was the pepper rice! Service was quick and excellent! Highly recommend!

This is a casual Asian eatery where you order through a QR code on the table. It’s small but clean. There’s plenty of parking in the lot and the menu is varied. Everything from sushi to hot pot to sizzling rice bowls (although mine did not sizzle. It was a fizzle-hence only 4 stars for food). But the food arrived promptly and the hot pot was big enough for two.

Their menu has many items. We ordered poke, pepper rice and ramen. The food is a little bit salty. Personally I like sizzling lunch better.

This is the first restaurant I saw in Bay that provides such nice packaging for the takeout orders. It doesn't only keep the dishes hot but also shows how the owners go an extra mile in respect and care for the customers. The food is great but that gesture is something that would really make me come back
We discovered a hidden gem in a strip mall! We sampled numerous dishes, starting with the California roll. Despite using imitation crab, their unique method of finely mashing it, combined with excellent sushi rice, made it exceptional.
The gyoza were a highlight—crispy on the outside and tender inside. Each order came with six pieces, and we enjoyed them so much we ordered another round.
We tried three different sizzling rice plates: pork belly, Korean short rib, and eel. All were outstanding and left us craving more. Beware, though—the sizzling plates are extremely hot.
We also enjoyed a noodle dish, though I can't recall its name, and the chicken udon noodle soup, which was quite satisfying with its perfectly textured noodles and savory broth—perfect comfort food.
Our only complaint was that one dish was forgotten, and we had to remind the staff. It must have been an oversight in the kitchen. Nevertheless, we waited patiently for the last dish to arrive before starting our meal.
Parking is abundant in this mall, so there's no need to worry about that.
I'm eager to return and try more sushi and sashimi. They looked incredibly fresh at other tables.
January 2025 update:
Yes, this is my new obsession place. I’ve been here three times in one month. This time I focused on sushi. The sashimi combination was full of large fish pieces, very fresh, on a bed of ice to keep them cool , and with both fresh and concentrated wasabi. Excellent! The Hamachi carpaccio was delicious. Tangy and with a little spice from sliced chilies. You will not see carpaccio this big elsewhere. But even though it’s big, it was very tender and delicious. And lastly, as a filler, California roll. They’re just good.
March 2025 update:
Doh! I found a weak point, in my opinion. I had the pork belly ramen for the first time. I want thrilled. The soup base was very bland and the noodles seemed more instant than authentic. I don’t know, I could be wrong but that was my thought.
The eel sizzling rice plate was as fantastic as ever, though. I think I’ll stick to those sizzlers and the sushi and sashimi next time.
May 2025 update:
Tried something new this time. It’s a hot pot. With beef, mushrooms, tofu, glass noodles, and veggies. I really think one order is good enough for two people. But if course my eyes are bigger than my stomach, as usual, and ordered California roll and hamachi nigiri. And then I was FULL!
The one thing they can improve is they to serve hot tea. I mean, it’s all Asian food here. So we asked for hot water instead. Guess what, no hot water.
We found MiMi’s on Yelp and since it was close to home and we were jonesing for Sushi, we decided to eat there! We were not disappointed, in fact we have been back 4 times in so many weeks! It is an enjoyable, no frills place with great food, nice people and fair pricing! We would encourage you to try MiMi’s the next time you think “Sushi!”
Absolutely the best service in the area! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Thank you for being so great!
