Ive been going to this place for around 2ish years now and it is genuinely the most delicious korean food I’ve had in this area. They prepare everything fresh and the atmosphere and area is super nice. The food itself is so fresh and the fried chicken is super high quality and tender. Along with this, the owner is super hospitable and kind and always greets me when I come. Overall this place is a really nice and high quality spot and offers a variety of dishes that are super well made, I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting some well made korean food.

I paid $30 for a plate of beef only and an egg. They forfot the egg and gave me a pitiful amount of beef. This place is a rip off and the food is gross.

I came Modak last week and it was my third time coming there. I used to get like Fried Chicken Wings Reg with Extra Spicy Yangyum. but, last time I got Kimchi Fried Rice and seafood Tofu Soup)., Tofu Soup was sooo good and the seafood was really delicious. As for the kimchi fried rice, it was a perfect blend of bold flavors. The rice was cooked to perfection, and then the server said they made Kimchi every day so that customers get the taste of homemade kimchi. The portion was generous, and the added egg on top (I highly recommend it).

It was my first time trying Korean Restaurant in San Jose. My friend recommended Modak restaurant to get some Korean Fried Chicken. I got The Spicy Yangyum and Creamion. Definitely Creamion was my Fave. Well, the spicy Yangyum was too spicy for me. Maybe next time i might get medium or That savory soy. Plus, the customer service was pleased. I got their First time customer card(idk how to call it)for free appetizers on my next visit.

My husband threw up late night after having Kimbap here.

We ordered takeout, got the order on time and ate the food immediately after we got them.

We ordered take:
Veggie kimbap and Beef kimbap

He felt headache and weakness in his body after the threw up.

Wanted to leave a comment publicly and help people avoid unhealthy/unclean food

Delivery order. Sauce was everywhere, literally every container had to be cleaned off of a sticky red sauce (that I think we paid extra for).

Chicken was not crispy, definitely not double fried. Probably not dredged in anything just plain fryer chicken wings.

Cheese corn was trash. The whole tinfoil packet tasted like butane or some kind of fuel. Unseasoned corn.

Seemed like most of the rice cakes were undercooked and then over sauced to cover up how hard they were.

Overall bad, we threw away the gassy cheese corn, part of the hard rice cakes, and part of the wings.

And the sides were laughable: 8 pieces of radish and a spoonful of potato salad. Like why even give that if you probably lose as much in container cost?

Bonchon is way better.

Stopped by for a late lunch today and we tried a variety of items: a bulgogi rice bowl and kimbap as well as an order of boneless fried chicken. Even though we ordered Regular sizes, the portions were generous. The bulgogi beef is tender and tasty and I loved the japchae that came with the rice bowl. The chicken came with potato salad, pickled radish and choice of sauce. Decided to try the creamonion sauce so we got that on the side. It was ok but mostly reminded me of Ranch. Would probably try another sauce next time. Service and ambiance were good!

Parking: Easy to miss the entrance to parking and end up in the Lion supermarket lot.

We ordered Yachae Pajean ( veg pancake) and a Korean iced coffee.

The interiors of the restaurant is very cute and overall the service was great.

The portion of the pancake was huge! Overall everything was great here. They also had great Soju flavours here.
