We went on a Friday night. This was our second time at MoDak. I was surprised there was nobody dining in when we got there, but I was happy to see they had some togo orders.
I love the decor.
The food is excellent.
The only thing I would suggest is not adding sesame oil to their kimbaps. I have eaten kimbaps in many different places. This was the first time they had sesame oil on them.

Small and cozy Korean restaurant. They have one of the best soft tofu soups in the Bay. The veggie soft tofu soup, medium spice is my favorite dish. It comes with rice and you can add Ramen or glass noodles as well. The portion is enough for two people. My non Vegan friends rave about the chicken, it is a must try for meat eaters. I have visited the restaurant for both dine in and takeout and all of my experiences have been great. While dining in, due to the size of the restaurant there may be a wait. The food is flavorful and the portions are large with reasonable prices.

I just picked up their yangnyum chicken, came home, took two bites and threw away the whole thing. This is by far the worst chicken I had in my life. I don't want to sound so dramatic, but I am not exaggerating.
Where do I start. The breading, I will pass on that. I can see some people liking it. I asked the sauce to be on the yangnyum chicken. They drizzle it over the chicken. They didn't toss it in the sauce like how true Korean yangnyum chicken supposed to be. The sauce...omg. Their sauce is based on korean gochujang that gives very chalky taste for sauce. This is where I said, these people have never own a restaurant before. They don't know how to cook.
But the worst part was, the oil. I could taste the old oil. With fried chicken business, they need to change the oil almost everyday to every other day depending on the amount of chicken they fry. I could taste the old, stale oil, in their breading (the breading they used is the type to absorb maximum oil as possible).
They use frozen chicken. And either they didn't thaw it right or their cooking temp is off. The meat was dry.
I am gonna go pick up Popyes. I will never ever order from here. I do not understand how it has 4.1 stars.

Modak is a must-visit for delicious Korean food in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The highlight of my meal was the kimbap—perfectly rolled, packed with fresh ingredients, and bursting with flavor. Every bite had the ideal balance of textures, making it easily one of the best I’ve had.

The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the great experience. Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean cuisine or trying it for the first time, this spot won’t disappoint. I’ll definitely be back!

As a regular customer at Modak Korean Chicken, I can’t help but rave about the consistently amazing experience I have every time I visit! The chicken is always perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and the flavors are out of this world. I’m a big fan of their signature sauces – each one packs a punch and perfectly complements the chicken. The customer service is top-notch, always friendly and attentive. I also love the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Whether I’m grabbing a quick bite or dining in with friends, Modak Korean Chicken never disappoints. Highly recommend to anyone craving delicious, flavorful fried chicken with a Korean twist!

Great food with great spice! Kimbop is amazing. I got the spicy pork one day and spicy squid another. Both tasted amazing and spices perfectly. Had a Vegan friend get the ramen and said it was one of the best he has ever had.

One of the worst ddukkochi I’ve ever had. There wasn’t enough sauce, so it was hard to taste anything. On top of that, it seemed like it was fried in old oil. Really disappointing.

Ive been going to this place for around 2ish years now and it is genuinely the most delicious korean food I’ve had in this area. They prepare everything fresh and the atmosphere and area is super nice. The food itself is so fresh and the fried chicken is super high quality and tender. Along with this, the owner is super hospitable and kind and always greets me when I come. Overall this place is a really nice and high quality spot and offers a variety of dishes that are super well made, I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting some well made korean food.

I paid $30 for a plate of beef only and an egg. They forfot the egg and gave me a pitiful amount of beef. This place is a rip off and the food is gross.
