This vegan place is where we usually go when we’re craving veggie dishes. We all love the salt and pepper fried mushrooms and the house special hot pot. The broth is rich and flavorful, packed with fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Highly recommend this place.

Over the weekend, I tried four dishes at this restaurant, and they completely blew my mind! Everything was absolutely delicious 😋 The service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I really don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this experience was too disappointing not to share.
I went to New Hoa Dang Vegetarian Restaurant today with my mom, and unfortunately she ended up with food poisoning after eating there. That alone is serious and concerning.
We ordered the fried mushrooms, which were actually the best dish we had it was crispy and flavorful is even why they are worthy of this one star. The Bun Cha Hanoi was edible, though nothing special. But the Mi Quang was honestly the worst dish of the entire meal. As someone who loves Vietnamese food and especially Mi Quang being one of my top favorite dishes, this was extremely disappointing. The noodles were mushy, the bowl was filled with broth like a soup (which anyone who knows Mi Quang understands it is not supposed to be), and to top it off, it was completely bland.
What made the experience worse was the response. I politely let them know, simply so they could improve. They didn’t acknowledge it at all. The server was also rude, which added to the frustration.
Overall, it was a no from me. Between the food quality, the lack of accountability, and the service, I would genuinely say: eat at your own risk.

Been eating here since they opened years ago! I used to be vegan so was eating here at least once a week. I’m not vegan anymore but still come here for their autumn rolls and BBH. They make the best vegetarian/vegan BBH in San Jose. We recommend this place to friends and family all the time and they love the BBH!

Delicious vegetarian Vietnamese food right here in East San Jose and it's soared to being one of the top spots I'd recommend for plant-based enthusiasts out there.
They offer a lot of unique Viet dishes not commonly found at other restaurants, veggie or not. The menu doesn't explicitly mark whether something is or isn't vegan, but nearly all of the items are and you can ask to make sure.
We ordered their Spring Rolls, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Chinese Spinach, and Lemongrass Fish (which also came with rice).
The rolls were a fantastic start and came with a savory dipping sauce. The fried rice was bomb and definitely a staple at any Viet restaurant. I also really liked the fish even though the side rice felt like overkill, but we definitely took it home afterwards to avoid waste.
So not only was everything great but the service was pretty quick and the majority Viet families dining here really shows its stamp of approval by the community it serves.
Parking is the only headache here as the Asian lot is busy and packed especially during lunch. I ended up parking on the street outside since it was a nightmare hunting for a spot.

Love the big menu with so much flavor.

Delicious and creative food with a litany of drink options. Not all items on the menu are bilingual if you don't understand Vietnamese. The staff are very sweet and patient. 💖

A sharp decline in quality: stingy portions of half decayed herbs, practically nonexistent service. If you sit outside on warmer days you will be completely abandoned by the staff. If you need napkins, chopsticks, or chili you will need to get them yourself. And tea from a teabag, like a 7Eleven? There are many Vietnamese vegan restaurants in town with much better food and service.
So disappointed in my experience here!! I was very excited to have my vegan friend try this place so I invited her to dinner with her 9 month old baby. Upon arrival we noticed they had signs saying baby strollers weren’t allowed, we asked about this and were told we couldn’t come in and if we wanted service we had to sit outside in the patio. This is was the first red flag as we had a baby not a dog! But since weather was pleasant we agreed. I asked for water and the server brought back my water with some nasty black stuff swimming around and when I told my server, he looked annoyed gave me no apology and just took my cup. Our food was mediocre we ordered chow fun, our least favorite dish, fried rice, fries, and a sampler appetizer which also was not our favorite. Our server never once came to our table during our dinner to ask how everything was or even just to acknowledge us, it wasn’t until the end of our meal when someone other than our server rudely slammed the bill on our table and said “can you pay now we’re closing”. As if things couldn’t get worst when I went to go pay, the server started yelling that my friend still had to pay her half of the bill and that he couldn’t wait on her to pay which i responded what are you talking about i have both payments right here I just paid her half she can’t come bc she has the baby and he looked at me with a sorry face but still offered no apology for assuming and continued to charge me. I still regret leaving a tip but I myself am a server so I felt like I needed to tip but it definitely wasn’t well deserved. The food being so so and the service terrible is not a good combo if you want returning clients. Definitely taking this place off the list.
