Called in advance to book and confirm outside seating. Upon arrival we were seated inside due to private party yet no one called to advise of the change. Reservation was made here specifically for the outdoor ambiance. The server was also the bartender and drinks were arriving very slow. Table of 8 never had drinks all togther to do a bday toast. Food arrived very slow and 3 of the 8 dishes had to be returned because they were too salty. Was not asked if we wanted something different. Upon letting our server know about the bad tasting food he never returned and sent a different server and again did not apologize but rather made excuses. Table was never cleared so gift opening took place with food still left in the table. Although reservation was made for a bday party we were never asked if we wanted dessert to sing happy birthday. All in all first time eating here and would not return. Bad experience especially for a birthday occasion. Very unfortunate.
The food was great very authentic and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. More people should know about this place, it would be nice if they had a sign or menu outside of the Hotel since it's a bit hard to find it.
I had my 60th birthday celebration with about 14 of my closest friends.
Was not at all impressed with the food! Everyone there said how I cook better pallea! I did not find one piece of chorizo and barely tasted any saffron.
I felt I was overcharged for the quality!
The bread I ordered was $60 and I did not think that they spent more than $20 to make it, but the worst was the seafood pallea it came with shrimp with heads and eyes!
The service was okay I was charged a $50 cake cutting fee but my friends actually cut it themselves. The ambiance was okay and the sangria was just blah at $50 per pitcher none the less I'm grateful that the restaurant could accommodate my guests, but very dissatisfied in the servers they only came to bring food, never once asked if we needed anything else! Because I'm an excellent tipper I over tipped the restaurant, and I'm about to email the manager to have him send me an itemized receipt!
Overall I said I would maybe recommend the restaurant to others, but I will be honest about my experience!
Maybe because of the economy the restaurants have all gone down, I feel this is the case with this restaurant. But when one spends nearly $1000 for mediocre food one wants to let others know about their experience! Overall I left unhappy!
I rate the restaurant and the food two stars !
The service 2 stars and the ambiance and location 4 stars so I'm giving an overall three stars rating.

Drinks, dessert and salad was good. The Tomahawk steak was fatty, tough and grisly. I would not order again.
I regret booking this place for my office holiday dinner. The food was not good. The service was slow, and there were literally 2 other tables in the whole restaurant. The vibe was boring and the decor was dated. The menu & the portions were small. Let's just say I tried lots of Spanish restaurants around the bay & in Spain. I was disappointed in so many dishes that I normally love. I thought because it's in Santana Row and in the Valencia Hotel that it will be fun. Messi was just there this summer. I was wrong, I should've did more research. We wanted more drinks, alcohol preferably, they never came back. I had to share my water with one of my coworkers. Overall not recommended if you have a big party and you want good authentic Spanish food.
Food was not worth the price. Charcuterie board had obviously been made in advance and sat for a long time before being served. Same with the dessert. Short rib was just roast beef not actual short rib. Interior is concrete all around with no acoustic padding so every sound rings out like a gun shot. No one was out to greet guests. We had to have hotel staff go find a host to seat us. Minimum tip option ended up being over $40 or about 1/3 the cost of the bill.

We cancelled our reservation at Chaminade Resort upon seeing an add for a Thanksgiving buffet at Oveja Negra. Upon arrival when I stated that we had reservations for the buffet the person welcoming us made me feel foolish as she stated there is no buffet! At that point there was little room to do otherwise, so we stayed and ate what was offered. Towards the end of the meal I asked our waitress why the buffet was cancelled and appreciated that she told the truth that it was cancelled due to not enough reservations had been made. This was certainly not the Thanksgiving that we planned for and expected. Very disappointing!
Best Octopus we've ever had, glad they could adjust it to avoid cross contamination for gluten allergy. Service was great, food was well portioned and delicious. We'll be back.

Food was excellent. Compliment to the Chef from Spain. Service was excellent. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay at Hotel Valencia.
Christian and Andres were so friandly, kind, attentive and professional. They made sure that our special orders were promptly communicated to the kitchen. And the kitchen sure delivered. The French Toast, Eggs Florentine and 3 Eggs Omelette were smash hits with our group. Plating made it look so good and delicious that it took us a while to start eating because we did not want to ruin the plates. Will visit again everytime in town. Thank You!
My wife and I are very demanding to pick Restaurants. After a day we ask ourselves a simple question. Will you go back there? In this case ,the answer was definetly.
Outdoor water fountain was lovely. Server was nice, but the service was subpar. The food quality was 2/10. Wouldn't come back nor would I recommend this place, respectfully.
We absolutely loved the atmosphere! The courtyard is stunning, with a beautiful fountain and lovely lighting. The food was good, and the wine list decent, though it had only a few Spanish options. Services are also very nice!
