Great breakfast and stuff
It’s good for what it is a restaurant bar that has good food and a great bar for the area at a classy nostalgic high end Hayes mansion

We were disappointed to see that breakfast was a lackluster buffet. The menu suggested something more upscale. The restaurant and grounds are gorgeous though. The service was also excellent. We'll be coming back for dinner and drinks to try again.
Terrible service menu is very small..There was a Karen arguing with the manager about a pta meeting for 20mins I couldn't even be herd by the waiter trying to take my order!!!..instead of kindly taking the conversation into another area the manager insisted on arguing with this Karen we are guest at the hotel on top of all this definitely won't be coming back here or recommending it.

Great experience set in a beautiful mansion. Had cocktails on the deck, dinner at the bar. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. I had the crab dip and the spicy salmon with wasabi crema, both were perfect. More wasabi crema next time.
Kid-friendliness: I did see families dining and childrens food options on the menu

This was not your normal hotel bar. The food was excellently prepared daily by a chef who possesses talent and vision. The bar staff were so attentive and helpful, I may adopt them both. Fresh, unique drinks and extensive knowledge of hotel and local history make this bar the go to place even for locals. I’d rather go here every night than any other restaurant in San Jose.
This is a newer restaurant at the Hayes Mansion. Very nice decor and a nice deck area where you have views of the front yard and Edenvale Garden Park. First visit to Palm and Ember. Had appetizers which were all good, but the Thai chicken skewers were a tad bit dry. Still tasty though. Waitress was very attentive. Beer was very cold. Really enjoyed the experience.
We stayed at the Hayes Mansion for 2 nights but we only ate at once at the restaurant, on a Saturday morning for breakfast. It was so overpriced and the food so poor, we never went back, not even for a drink. The cost for a breakfast buffet was $22 per person, so with a tip it was over $50 for 2 people, for an inedible "breakfast". All of the food was cold, the hash browns in particular were so cold and gross that I spit them out, the english muffin on the breakfast sandwich was hard and the coffee mediocre at best. For the cost and the type of place this is, we expected much, much more. Such a huge disappointment. Stay away.
Restaurant has been closed and continues to be closed through COVID. It appears to be a beautiful location and facility
We ate here a few times over the weekend. The steak and cheese was weird as it had barbeque sauce even though not mentioned on menu. The fish and chips did not taste fresh. The service is slow and tables are left for long period of times covered in dirty dishes. Also, for breakfast they make you wait in line to place a to go order even though the other folks are waiting for a table. Makes no sense.Gave an extra star because the workers were nice.
