I got Tres Leches and pork tamales. The cake was delicious, would get again, but the tamales were awful. Very little filling, tasted fishy, almost too spicy to eat, and bland. Very bland, no flavor in the PORK tamales other than fish, I feel like they used the spice to cover up the blandness.

When I visited, the signs on the door stated they could take cards over a certain amount which I was planning to spend. Then when I went to pay, they said their machine didn't work. The lady was nice enough so 2 stars.

Mold inside the cheese Jalapeño ham bread , if I knew it had deli ham I wouldn't had bought it. It is disgusting. never again

The best place for a custom birthday cake This is our second time getting my daughter's birthday cake from here and they always do such an amazing job!They really make my vision come to life.My Spanish is not the best, but love how patient they are with me when trying to explain what I want. Inspo pictures definitely help. Plus the cake itself is also really great and strawberries are so fresh tasting. We always get lots of complements on our cake.

Small hole in the wall with tasty Mexican treats. A search for donuts late in the evening brought me here since most of the regular spots were closed for the day. The sugar donut was very good. Also picked up a tres leches cake which was just ok. The lady who waited on me was super nice.

We have been loyal to La Espiga, the quality of the ingredients in their breads is good, the taste and texture of each pan dulce has always been excellent! You can't go wrong with any of their pan dulce, they have so much to choose from. The staff is welcoming and friendly, when you can't decide which one to chose they are happy to help. And don't forget to get a cup of their champurrado (perfect for those cold winter nights). We have our personal favorite panes: concha's, orejas, elote, chilindrina, mantecadas and the cream filled empanadas

This review is only about the customer service and lack of communication from the baker. I ordered a birthday cake for 25 people. On the day of the pick-up, the cake was NOT as ordered. There were no strawberries and the color and design was wrong. When we tried to talk to the baker, he said, since there were no fruits available he made the decision to change the order without calling -- claiming he "doesnt have time to call people". When asked about cost adjustment, I was told "take it or leave it". No other offers and no apology. Although the breads and cakes are good here (and the two other staff ladies are helpful and friendly), they arent that good considering the treatment we got from their baker (to us as long-time customers). This is unacceptable for the price we paid. We took the cake sadly -- since it was for a birthday, but our kid ended up with a cake that she didnt ask for. I am glad I have other options because I have since gone to Los Tres Hermanos and El Amanecer Panaderia's for cakes and pan dulce, and have received kinder service, their pan dulce is tasty, and my cake orders were correct. Too bad too, since this is actually closer to me. Just not worth the headache.
