Happy to find this shop. I came around 11 am on a wkday. Easy parking, which I really appreciate. The steam tables were full and to-go containers of soup lined the edges. Was told by friendly staff that food is prepared fresh each day in the morning. Food looked quite appetizing; it was easy to pick familiar favorites or try something new.
I bought sweet and sour catfish soup, which was fresh and flavorful. Until I encountered what must have been a teeny little seed from probably a Thai/birdseye 🌶️ chili pepper and my mouth/throat/nose burned hotter than any hot salsa I’ve ever had. Owwwwwww!!! After running to the fridge and downing milk, oatmilk, juice, and honey, the capsaicin fire 🔥 eventually subsided. But PLEASE exercise caution in both making and consuming this soup. Hope this was just an anomaly.
I also tried their mam chung (steamed pork/fermented fish loaf.) Not many places seem to make this and I was happy to find it here. I came home and immediately tried some on a bowl of rice- it was very tasty, and until I learn to make it myself I will be back for more.
Cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) is made to order and strong. Looking forward to trying the rest of the offerings,

Omg. The thit kho is so tender. The mam ba roi is so flavorful and not stinky like mam would be sometimes. Good cooks here. $14/lb for the food

The catfish tastes good, but it was not hot at all, so I don't know if it's fresh cooked or not. I worry that if it's old, then I might get sick, so I stop buying it, but Rong Bien restaurant's catfish is always hot, so I go there instead .

The staff at this store has an extremely unpleasant reception attitude, talking as if they want to slap customers in the face. I went in to buy food, and pointed to one of the plastic boxes lined up on the overhead shelf to choose the size of the food box. The person standing inside did not see which box to ask. I held up the box and said it was this box. So the employee shouted loudly, just say what kind of box is okay. I asked here if I don't put labels for many different sized boxes, how do I know (also about 4 or 5 types). She shouted loudly again, looking at the bottom of that box. Talk like uneducated and untrained to sell. Then, I said, the box is made so transparent, so no one can pick it up, but put it so high that no one can read it. So this person's madness continued to rise, and said loudly in my face, stop arguing. I really don't understand why the owner here would hire someone like this
Authentic takeout of hot Vietnamese dishes. A bit pricey but not many of these types of restaurants. A great way to eat traditional Vietnamese without being intimidated or time at a restaurant. Cao Nguyen in the same plaza is recommended if you want a good example of similar dishes.

Really good menu of food-to-go choices, especially the stews and the soups (some are rotated on a daily basis). Highly recommended for those with a tight budget but still want an every day's healthy and tasty meal.
